After their epic journey across Europe, Ayla and Jondalar have reached his home, the Ninth Cave of the Zelandonii, the old stone-age settlement in the region known today as southwest France. Jondalar's family greet him warmly, but they are initially wary of the beautiful young woman he has brought back, with her strange accent and her tame wolf and horses.

    "The accent...please!"
    Overall

I read the first three books as a teenager and wanted to listen to all the books now/again before the last book comes out this year, but after listening to the first 4 books in the series with a 'normal' voice, why the need for Ayla to have an accent? Why after 4 books was it necessary to give her a bad accent now...like russian? It is very hard to listen to her in this book with the horrible accent. The books are still incredible though!!

The triumvirate created by master vampire Jean-Claude, necromancer Anita Blake, and werewolf Richard Zeeman has made Jean-Claude one of the most powerful vampires in the U.S. He's consolidating power in himself and those loyal to him, doing in America what Belle Morte did in Europe when she was at her height of power. She almost owned Europe, and there was those who are determined that Jean-Claude won't do the same in America.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Where did the plot go? I miss the early books. I am over the whole bondage and orgy and S&M thing. I miss the Anita that we met. I feel that she got lost. I like a good sex scene, but I find myself drifting away even during them now and waiting for everyone to feed the 'ardour' so they can put their clothes back on and find some real action. And seriously if I hear how

Ayla, one of the most remarkable and beloved heroines in contemporary fiction, continues to explore the world and the people around her with curiosity, insight, and, above all, courage. As the story opens, Ayla, Jondalar, and their infant daughter, Jonayla, are living with the Zelandonii in the Ninth Cave - a shelter of stone. Ayla has been chosen as an acolyte and has embarked on the arduous task of training to become a spiritual leader.

I started reading this series when I was still in High School and am now 40 years old. I love this series and it will remain one of my favorite reads, but I found the last few books very hard to read/listen to. The repetition started to cause me to 'zone out.' I was a bit disappointed in this last book since I watched the short "movie" preview on Auel's website. This book ended the journey, but I don't feel that it brought any closure. I would have at least liked in Ayala's "calling" that she could have helped us see what became of her Clan and son. And with the "trouble" that happened in this book with Jondalar I felt like I was re-reading The Mammoth Hunters in parts. But, I still love the series overall, but would love to have seen this end with a look at the Clan in some way.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Jan says: "What a great surprise!"
    "Simply wonderful!"

I loved this book so much that I could not wait for each moment that I got to listen. All the ladies that did the voices were amazing. There were moments in the book that I found myself holding my breath. Truly a great read/listen!

Stephanie Plum, Trenton, New Jersey's favorite pistol-packing, condom-carrying bounty hunter, is back and on the trail of a revenge-seeking waitress who's skipped bail. With the help of 73-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-hospitable, all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman.

    Mike says: "Narrator was great!"
    "I hate the narrator!"
    Overall

After listening to books 1 - 3 and loving the narrator I am very disappointed in this one. She sounds like a dull old lady and not a spunky young NJ woman. I am going to struggle to finish listening to this one.

Desi might have the face of a temptress, but she also has a will of iron, and while she needs his protection, she's determined that no man will control her again. They establish an uneasy bond, but it isn't enough for Caine. He wants all Desi has to offer. He wants her screams, her moans, her demands...everything. Yet there's still a bounty on Desi's head, and keeping her sexually satisfied is proving easier than keeping her alive.

Toni says: "Wonderful! More like this!"
    "A very HOT Read."
    Overall

This book was my first erotica and absolutely left me hot and bothered. Yes, some of it was a bit drawn out, but it just made the climax all that much more anticipated.
