"Wish it was better - not bad but not great"
Liked the story a good bit but in a way, I now wish I had read it. The reader, Coleen Marlo, is very talented and solid however her accent of a Scotsman is truly wanting. It just does not work. I had to stop a few times slightly annoyed as Coleen goes totally out of character a good number of times and the editors missed a lot of mistakes where she goes out of accent and just marginally ok. Half the fun of Audible for me is to listen to the talented theatrics of a dynamic reader. If that is important to you - suggest you read this one. Also, if you adore great readers try Roslyn Landor(reading Lisa Kleypas books or others) or Jim Frangione (black dagger brotherhood series - outstanding) - just no, no no comparison.
Kerrelyn is very talented - some fun stories - would love to hear her books with another reader. Coleen is too - just not for a sexy Scotsman.
"A fascinating vampire utopia"
Susannah spins an intriguing tale with strong character development that is highly entertaining. Also, the narrator, Angela Dawe, does an excellent job with the range of people. Living in a world where most humans have been vaccinated against a pandemic, it turns out that this is fatal for vampires. To answer this challenge, one vampire creates a utopia in Penton, AL with unvaccinated humans that he rescues from across the country and supports them through rehabs and other limiting life situations, then gives them the option to live in a small town with a positive supported community in exchange for blood.Top this off with a vampire national government that does not like this idea and other vampires that are attracted to building the community you have intrigue a strong love story all woven into a fast paced fun story. worth a credit? Totally!
"Fantastic narrator and fun story"
Yes, there are a good bit of erotic scenes but is weaved as a relevant part of the story so if you are not comfortable with this then this story is not for you. But Laurell weaves a fantastic story - vivid characters come alive with very creative characters and scenes and the narrator totally brings it home. I could barely put it down. A really fun listen for P/R fans - totally worth a credit!
"The entire series is worth enjoyable"
Clever, witty, sexy and fun - and surprising. totally an enjoyable read - then had to follow the series - loved it!
"Thought I would like this as much as the BDB"
well, it was not even close. In fact, could not get through it. wish I adored it - was not worth my credit but had to find out.
"Outstanding story and gorgeous narration"
Dont think twice - download it - worth 2 credits but its only one! Run, don't walk!
"Get the whole series - totally amazing"
At first it took me a few minutes to give the moderator a chance. His voice is so distinctive and usually I prefer women readers. But Jim Frangione was simply incredible once I adjusted a bit to the style. The story is addictive. I have recommended this story to 9 friends and ALL of them adored it - and we are totally enjoying talking about the series together. Its easy to fall in love with the characters, the women are strong or are learning fast and the dialogue is quite funny and fun. Sexy, funny and a great story - what's not to love? Cannot wait till the next one - not coming out till March of 2013 - its in the calendar!
"A not-to-miss!!!!"
Start with the first one - read them in order - so much richer that way. Once you start - WARNING --- you will be totally hooked! If you like Jeanine Frost you will ADORE this series.
"Outstanding Regency Romance - Story, Characters"
This story had me from the first scene - many twists and turns - excellent characters. Suggest you listen to the mistress series in order - its not necessary but looking back I wish I had as characters are included in subsequent books. If you like Lisa Kleypas you will probably love this story. Some good nail biting, teary scenes where you simply are not sure what will happen next. Totally worth the credit!
"Adored this very clever and well-written story"
How fun this was - i did not want it to end. Excellent character development, perfect witty rake, good twists and turns to the story - worth a credit for sure. just make sure you dont have anything else better to do once you start - difficult to put down!
