I only wish I'd read this book years ago. I would have been a better and more effective team member.
I liked the information and stories.
Good narration - didn't realize it was the author until now.
Didn't laugh or cry but came away feeling I wouldn't like the discomfort of these exercises.
Good book - excellent analysis but I didn't always agree with his solution.
The audio version is better because I can listen again. I'm already listening the second time.
The book was my favorite character. I wish I'd read it when my kids were young - no doubt I would have been a better father. It's not too late to be a better husband which I already am because of this book.
I learned that until now I almost never listened. I still forget and revert to pattern but when I do listen its powerful.
Probably the personal assistant protecting her boss.
Listen and take control.
I've read many how too books over the years and this on is among the very finest. The reason is these techniques are so powerful you immediately discover their utility and you start to use them with confidence. Also, you recognize and appreciate when they are being used on you.
I accidentally stumbled on a situation years ago where the just listen approach works like magic - government-to-government listening sessions. I sometimes just listen for hours. But I didn't know what I was doing really but I knew it worked. The first session after reading the book took half the time and the tribe was even more pleased than usual. As the book talks about I found the loose bricks and asked the right questions. I am even more excited and confident than ever in my work.
