"Over Rated... READ THIS!!!"
This book was definitely writen for woman and guy men. I used to like Tina Fey much more than I do now that I've listened to this book. I thought she was smart, funny and above all, open minded! However, "Bossy Pants" provides a window into a bitter, angry, selfish and slightly racist person (closet racist) who suddenly has enough power to get back at people who were mean to her in highschool. I get her humor, I really do. Its the main reason I bought the book to begin with but I was unaware of the caty, bitchy woman hidden behind the vale of smart comedy. In my eyes she went from exeptional (but modest) to common and over rated. I'm disappointed not in the quality of the book, witch really was funny for the most part, but in the the author. I wanted so much to like the book but instead, it made me take her off the comic pedistal...
"Not really worth 2 credits"
Not exactly a bad book but alot slower paced than I expected. The story starts to become kind of a downer after a while, with nothing but bad luck, bad memories and bad omens. You keep expecting some kind of redeeming event to happen but it never comes. In fact, the big moment kind of falls flat. You feel like "what? is that it?" then it goes on for a while and ends with no real resolution. They're obviousley trying to leave the door open for a series of books. Kind of a ripoff of "I am legend" with a longer timeline.
"Harper audio for "KIDS!!""
Actually a pretty good book but writen for preteens. I was upset that it doesnt say that in any of the descriptions. I felt kinda dooped but having puchased it, I listened to it and found it to be worth while. Exellent if you have a preteen to listen with you.
"Unusualy Satisfying"
I experiment with authors unknown to me all the time and I listen to a lot of fiction but I dont give praise easily. This book was the exception. On par with some of the best fiction (SiFi or otherwise) that I have ever read. Maybe a little better than "Enders Game" the only people I can imagine that wont like this book are those dull wited individuals like the ones in the book its self (you'll know what I mean) you should, however, read "Enders Game" first.
