Reacher's anonymity in Florida is shattered by an investigator who's come looking for him. But hours after his arrival, the stranger is murdered. Retracing the PI's trail back to New York, Reacher's compelled to find out who was looking for him and why. He never expected the reasons to be so personal - and twisted.

What made the experience of listening to Tripwire the most enjoyable?

Villain got his just desserts at the end

Who was your favorite character and why?

Reacher, of course. His intuition and logic proved superior, admirable, but mostly believable. Seems like someone I'd really enjoy meeting - an authentic sort.

What about Jonathan McClain’s performance did you like?

His good voice variation on the the characters made the story easier to follow.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not possible, and I prefer books that have interesting section wrap-ups that allow stopping after 2-4 hours to be continued as my schedule allows.

    Any additional comments?

I like the way Reacher seems to be a good role model, albeit a bit unbelievable. He's grounded and seems to be one who won't take no for an answer.

  • Basic Economics, Fourth Edition: A Common Sense Guide to the Economy

The fourth edition of Basic Economics is both expanded and updated. A new chapter on the history of economics itself has been added, and the implications of that history examined. Among other additions throughout the book, a new section on the special role of corporations in the economy has been added to the chapter on government and big business.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes - Mr. Sowell seems to have a brilliant understanding and explanation about the subject.

What about Tom Weiner’s performance did you like?

Sounded very much like a good professor.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not possible - too much information

    Any additional comments?

Really needed to replay several passages for understanding but can't seem to reverse with my MP3 using your software. Why not??

What did you love best about 61 Hours?

Typical good Child's mystery. BUT, Audible software doesn't work very well on my MP3.

Why can't I do a short reverse to re-listen to the last minute or two?

Four people in a car, hoping to make Chicago by morning. An hour behind them, a man lies stabbed to death in an old pumping station. He was seen going in with two others, but he never came out. He has been executed, the knife work professional, the killers vanished. Within minutes, the police are notified. Within hours, the FBI descends, laying claim to the victim without ever saying who he was or why he was there. All Reacher wanted was a ride to Virginia. All he did was stick out his thumb. But he soon discovers he has hitched more than a ride.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The reader's rendition of female characters, Sorenson and Karen, was really lame. He made them sound syruppy and deficient! His descriptions and narrative were fine, as were his different voice tones for male characters. Either have a woman read ladies's parts or just use his normal voice, please. His female voice was almost insulting.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Wanted Man?

Having Sorenson's head blown up was a negative and predictably done for "dramatic effect." It was a lame move and rather shallow or too simple. On the positive side, Reacher's handling of the task of taking control of the mysterious enemy compound was nicely complex and believeable.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dick Hill’s performances?

    Probably not.

Could you see A Wanted Man being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I will plan on seeing the screen version - although it's hard to imagine T. Cruise as Reacher. I know Mr. Cruise will do well, but I'd rather see a rugged "real man" like Gary Cooper or Randolph Scott look-alikes or at least someone who is really tall with lots of muscle.

    Any additional comments?

Overall the book was very entertaining and was great company for a solo road trip I had to make recently. The book lasted the whole trip and I really enjoyed it.
