For eons, Earth has been under observation by the Firstborn, beings almost as old as the universe itself. The Firstborn are unknown to humankind - until they act. In an instant, Earth is carved up and reassembled like a huge jigsaw puzzle. Suddenly the planet and every living thing on it no longer exist in a single timeline.

    "Disappointing and flat"
    Overall

Too much history, too little science fiction.
Boring, kept on listening just to see what happens.
Characters were flat and totally non-engaging.
Story was sort of ok, but could not make up for the rest.

These become Earth's first pioneers in the exploration of space...

    "A great read"

Am halfway through, awesome read, lots of suspense, real characters that you connect to, story flows well and is believable, sci-fi proper. Recommended.
