This was a very good book. She is an amazing woman and an amazing swimmer. Having had 5 shoulder operations myself, it was difficult listening to parts of this. I think this will help thousands of athletes that suffer from depression understand that they are not alone and that they should not suffer alone. Seek help. It is available.

  • Writing Down the Bones

Here is a new collector's edition of this modern classic as you have never heard it before, read by Natalie Goldberg herself, and then infused with her most personal reflections about this "magic manual" for all writers. Try these ingenious, Zen-based exercises to expand your writing skills ¿ or just for fun.

    Overall

I agree Goldberg's voice is difficult to get used to. I am glad that I had read all the reviews before I bought this. I think you have to make friends with Natalie and listen like you would to a wise friend or grandmother. Her information is good and informative. Not everything will apply to everyone. She is kinda outlandish at times. But again, how badly do you want to write your best stuff? If you want to write better, then get over the voice and listen anyway.

In this first volume of his Frank Bascombe trilogy, Bascombe is a sportswriter attempting to cope with his failed marriage and the death of his son. Unable to establish true connections with people, Bascombe drifts into and out of various relationships, but retains an introspective eye that allows him to transcend life's obstacles.

I kept listening thinking it would get better, but it doesn't. He jumps all over the place. I hated the characters, all of them. His "X" was stupid, his girlfriend, dumb. Walter was weird and needed to be slapped and The Sports Writer himself needed to be shot to put him out of everyone's misery. Don't waste your money.

With more than two million copies sold, this classic guide to accumulating wealth has profoundly affected the world. Author George S. Clason uses simple and inspiring parables to illustrate how easily people can change their fiscal habits to enjoy a comfortable level of financial independence.

If you can get past the language, which was easy to do in my opinion, then you will appreciate the message being related. The history of Babylon at the end I found also interesting. Highly recommend this book.

  • The Attractor Factor: Five Easy Steps for Creating Wealth from the Inside Out

    Story

For the first time ever, one of the rarely discussed formulas for building wealth and achieving success in all areas is revealed in The Attractor Factor. Popular marketing and spirituality guru Joe Vitale argues that those who try hard and fail need to remake their inner beings in order to easily attract success, wealth, and happiness. Many people do the right things but get the wrong results; it's not so much what they do, as what they are inside.

    Overall

As the book started I was not all that impressed. Then about a quarter of the way through the author struck a cord. The rest of the book was great. I highly recommend it.

I saw Joe Vitale in The Secret; then I listened to him on The Master of the Secret Series. While there is no question he is a good marketer and also trying to market his own stuff, once you get the end you will know he truly is trying to make the world a better place by helping people. Very sincere guy (even though you wouldn't know it by the first part of the book).
