What did you love best about The Look of Love?

This book had so much action in it that I was hooked right away.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrator threw me off a bit, though I'm not sure why. Her performance made me think this wasn't going to be a great book. But it was easy to get past this. The story won.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The book was almost in the cozy category. Which I love, but there was always lots going on.

    Any additional comments?

Very good book. I highly recommend it and I will be looking for this author again.

Buried deep in a ravine in the picturesque Smoky Mountains is a very dark secret. David Hobbs, vacationing with his wife Miriam, inadvertently stumbles upon a small cloth "keepsake" bag and a broken tooth. A human tooth. Miriam begs David to hand the bag and tooth over to park officials, but he ignores his wife's pleas and secretly keeps the "harmless" items.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The narrator appears to have forgotten or missed some key words and went back to put them in. They really stuck out. If you can get past that, then it's ok.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance could have been better if he had practiced a little more. He did a fine job with his voice. He has a pleasing voice and did well with the different characters. But the corrections were way too obvious.

Was Cades Cove worth the listening time?

If you like a scary story that doesn't have all the blood and guts, it was worth the time.

I didn't remember ordering this, I think it may have been a pre-order or something so I had no idea what to expect. The writing in this novel was SO good. I got the whisper sync for voice so I started reading the book first, I was taken aback by the beautiful writing. Started listening (time) and the plot moved along wonderfully, plenty of action. It was a great mystery.

Mystery buff Vicki Butler plans to kill someone this weekend. Nothing personal, just business. The killer grand opening weekend at her new Who-Dun-Him Inn is all fun and games - until an unplanned dead body makes an appearance. With a murderer running loose, young widowed mom Vicki is forced to keep her family, guests, and actors safe while searching for clues. Her author guests, also the prime suspects, try their hand at solving this real-life whodunit, in the process hindering the investigation by local law enforcement officers.

What disappointed you about Snowed Inn?

The narrator of the story in the book is supposed to be a young widow in her late 20s. The actress they chose was in her late 60s and you can tell. She sounds like an old lady. It ruins the story for me. I can't get past it. I tried and tried.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Different narrator would have helped make this a better book, but there were a lot of things that the writer just expected you to take too big of a leap off the high dive of gullibility.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Flora Plumb?

I don't have any names, just someone younger, and her Italian accent--Mama Mia! BAD!

What would have made Lots of Candles, Plenty of Cake better?

A different narrator might have made this better.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I usually get mysteries. I got this because she is famous and it was on sale. I will go back to mysteries.

How could the performance have been better?

She kind of had a whiney tone and I found the stories boring.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    I didn't find any.

    Any additional comments?

I'm sure a lot of people like this type of humor, just wasn't for me. Not that funny and kind of boring.

I listened to this book for hours waiting for something to happen. Finally, after three hours (approx) I gave up. I couldn't take it.

I was very disappointed to have wasted my money on this book.
