This book had well developed characters and the numerous twists kept your attention. The different narrators was a pleasant surprise.
Would have given it 5 stars - if not for the ending.
Wheaton is a great narrator and made the novel come alive.
All the references to the 1980's is cool - brought back memories. Not to take away from the actual story - it kept you on the edge of your seat.
Wheaton is consistently a great narrator and this audio doesn't disappoint.
Amazing concept of a not to distant (possible) future.
It was an interesting concept - Scalzi always makes you think and this book is no exception.
Like his reading - he suits the style of writing and the characters.
The concept is good - but found it hard to connect to the main characters
Compared to Old man's War, which admittedly is a tough act to follow, the book disappointed. It is still a good listen.
I love John Scalzi and believe he is the best sci-fi writer out there. Of all of his books this is my favourite.
If you have never listened to one of his books - then this is the one to start with.
Only John Scalzi could come up with something this imaginative.
The story's twists and turns as each of the subplots present themselves combined with Scalzi's "tongue in cheek" style makes this a very enjoyable listen. Was sorry to see the story end.
If you have read Molly Harper before - you wont be disappointed with this book. Her lite hearted journey into the lives of a small town full of Werewolves is a great listen.
Starting the book I was prepared to be disappointed - the valley girl meets old time vampire - one liners seemed a bit much.
But as I listened on, the story and the characters grew on me. The narrator is perfect match which greatly helps in making this a nice lite read.
I will probably listen to another in the series.
Find myself listening to this little book over and over. Lithgow's performance is guaranteed to pull you out of any bad day.
Hosseini's books may not contain the most likable characters - but they all keep your interest - warts and all - and as always a story line that keeps you listening to the end.
A good read - but certainly not one of King's finest. Books like 11-22-63 make it hard to meet expectations I guess.
The book is a quick read. keeps your attention and definitely worth the credit.
