"Awesome Awesome did I mention ths book is Awesome?"
No need to write more about this book. It deserves all the stars it gets. Buy listen or read it. You won't be sorry.
"Great Story and Narration"
Was on the edge of my seat the whole way. Dick Hill's narration is perfect. Don't miss this one.
"terrible narration"
Let me know if the story was good, because I can't get past the first 10 mins. The narration is so bad. There's little inflection, all characters sound the same and sometimes I couldn't even understand what was he was saying.
"Couldn't get past the reader"
Extreme monotone. Couldn't finish it. Suggest you listen to clip first.
It might be a good story.
"Interesting Story - But Bad Narration"
I was truly interested in finishing this book. I've read other Robothams and they were great. But, OMG, Ms. Corbett's narration of the male voices in this book brought to mind Lucy and Ethel doing that cowboy thing with the fake moustaches (for those baby boomers out there) or better - 5th grade boys putting on a play and trying to do the adult voices. Couldn't tell one character from the next. Tried 5 times to get back into it, but my mind kept drifting. Buy the book and read it. Probably a lot better.
"Got tedious"
The book had a great start. John Rain is an intriguing character and the info about modern Japanese culture was also very interesting. However, the book got so tedious at the end with too much explanation and not enough action. Lost interest and couldn't wait to get to the end.
"Looks like we the start of a new winning series!"
Great read! Fast moving, well written and a great new character. Can't wait to read the next Court Gentry novel.
"Comic Book Genre"
I felt like I was listening to a comic book rather than a novel and I had to shut it done after the first hour or so. The fight scene descriptions are immature and seem more of the stuff pre-adolescent boys would be interested in. For example, our hero doesn't get injured because he's wearing "liquid body armour", but then of course so is the antagonist, which is then used against her. I might give it another try if I'm stuck one night without an Internet connection, but hopefully that won't be any time soon.
"Awesome idea. Great Read"
At first I was put off. It starts off a little slowly and didn't seem to be my cup of tea, but then the author develops this mystery nicely and the flips back and forth between time eras is really good. Great idea and excellent ending with room for hopefully more than one sequel. Just downloaded the next one.
"What? I have to wait for the next book!!?"
When I finshed this, I immediately logged in to buy the next Nathan McBride novel only to find this is the first and only right now. Darn!
Great character, great story, can't wait for more.
