I don't necessarily agree with others that book 5 was not as good as the first 4. Tufo remains my favorite author. I know there have been some complaints from others. Not enough Eliza & Tomas, too much filler with Paul & Mike's past, not enough B.T. (I agree with that one but I could never get enough of him), not enough of the rest of the Talbot gang and last but not least the ending. I can see were the author was going and why some folks were disappointed. For me, I loved it all (the end better not be what it appears though or I'm finding Tufo) As for the lack of page time for Tomas & Eliza I really liked the focus on good ole' post apocalyptic zombies! I'm sure Eliza will raise her nasty head in book 6. As far as the filler complaint, I personally don't agree with that. For instance, quite some time is spent on a particular story of Paul & Mike during their freshman year in college and then again with a weekend trip to a concert eight years before the zombies arrive. I didn't see it as a "filler". Considering what happens towards the end of Z5 I have to say I think Tufo was trying to point out the "history" these two men had, that they stuck with one another no matter what, had loads of fun and most importantly loved each other. It was meant as a somber last hurrah. I liked the focus on Mike. B.T., Gary & their small posse. The fact that the other Talbots weren't mentioned too much wasn't necessarily a bad thing and let the reader focus on Mike himself. The two new characters, Mary and her son Josh, weren't haphazardly placed in the story and were developed well. I also like the evil turn Ms. D. has taken as it is much more entertaining. The infamous cat scene? EEEK!!! I'll never look at my two cats the same way again! Cujo would run screaming from those little gremlins. I don't think this book was rushed as some people have said. I think it was not only a good story but also a good lead in to what is supposed to be the last book in the series. I will however be very disappointed if I'm wrong and the end to a major character really IS the end! I'd better see him/her (and not just a ghostly vision) in book 6! What can be said about Runnette? The man is awesome. Unless you knew in advance you'd never guess that it is one person voicing B.T. AND Mike. He gives life into every one of the characters male, female, young, old etc. Overall GREAT read, well worth the credit. This remains my favorite zombie series and I've read every one that audible has to offer! I can't wait for z6

New York City has been decimated by war and plague, and most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves, where life expectancy is no more than the early 20s. When Deuce turns 15, she takes on her role as a Huntress, and is paired with Fade, a teenage Hunter who lived Topside as a young boy. When she and Fade discover that the neighboring enclave has been decimated by the tunnel monsters—or Freaks—who seem to be growing more organized, the elders refuse to listen to warnings.

I'm usually not a fan of "young" fiction but this was really good. I can't wait to get my next credit for book #2. I don't want to give too much away .....the way the characters reacted to "new" things after being cut off from the outside (they were in an enclave in old subway tunnels) was very realistic and I found myself totally wrapped up in the story. It was all very believable. Even the characters themselves were realistic. I hate it when an author has them do something that you just shake your head at, not Aguirre she did a great job. Emily Bauer is a very good narrator and I haven't heard anything that she's done that I didn't like. The differences in her voices are subtle not drastic and it really works well. The story was good and it leaves you wanting more - like I said just two more days and I can get book 2! Good book well worth the credit.

There's just something about the Talbot crew! I love the walking dead series and could see a series based on the Zombie Fallout series giving in some great competition. I can only hope! If you're contemplating purchasing the Zombie Fallout series go NOW. You will NOT regret it. Start with the first and listen to them all. This is the only series that I have EVER gone back and listened to twice. I am on book 4 AGAIN. Love love love them! (I can't imagine anyone other than Sean narrating)

The planet is called Banshee. The air is unbreathable, the water poisonous. It is the home of the most implacable enemies that humanity, in all its interstellar expansion, has ever encountered. Felix is a scout in A-team Two. Highly competent, he is the sole survivor of mission after mission. Yet he is a man consumed by fear and hatred.

Yikes, I could not get past the first chapter! The narration was horrible. I don't know what is going on with Tom Weiner but I loved him in the Pine Deep Trilogy. His narration is bland, boring and monotone.

I hope the story got better - I just couldn't listen anymore.

I loved this book!!!!! Great read, from beginning to end. The story takes A LOT of twists, and turns, from character to character. Miller does a great job of developing each and every character. The plot is AWESOME, and the writing pulls you into this town and its plight. It starts out with Brad and his 5 yr old daughter Abigail leaving New York and his psychotic druggie actress ex wife for a country setting near Thunder Rise Mountain. Soon Abby & many other children become ill and have horrifying nightmares. All about horrible evil talking creatures that only children can see. Bear, Wolf Vulture and Snake. Turns out there's an old indian legend that an evil deity is imprisoned in Thunder Rise and just waiting for the chance to escape and steal the souls of young children. hmmmmm Charlie one of the last indians of a local tribe is on a quest to save not only his nephew Tommy but the other children as well. I wish the adults would have been "let in on what is really going on" allot sooner. I loved the small town doctor as well. Its not everyday you see one going out on a limb for their patients and one with such an open mind. I loved the characters! My biggest complaint is that the sequels have nothing to do with the characters in this book. I thought the ending was setting us up for Book 2 and book 3. Nope. Totally new stories about Thunder Rise and its mystic. Don't get me wrong. There is a resolution BUT I would love to know if Brad's ex wife goes to jail or if Brad and Thomascina, his love interest, end up together. Overall a GREAT read. I loved it!

I was a little disappointed. Most of this book is "war in space". With the first one there was more suspense, more discovery, more "edge of your seat" action. This installment was slow, redundant, a little boring and it just seemed to coast along. It's almost as if it was written just to keep readers interested until book 3 is released. Same basic characters nothing new! I'll download #3 when available and pray it's better!

It's like two totally different stories instead of the second book in the series. Good grief. Zombie Apocalypse turned into moral second rate "Left Behind" story. I'm very disappointed. Characters are weak, story is disjointed and I it felt like I was being preached to. Nothing wrong with a strong religious undertone if it is the FIRST book and in keeping with the series. Its like the author decided to turn it over to someone else to write and he put his name on it. Disappointed!

Indian Hill is about an ordinary boy who grows up in relatively normal times but who finds himself thrust into an extraordinary position. Growing up in suburban Boston, Michael enjoys the trials and tribulations that all adolescents go through, from the seemingly tyrannical mother, to girl problems, to run-ins with the law. From there he escapes to college out in Colorado with his best friend, Paul, where they begin to forge new relationships with those around them. It is one girl in particular that has caught Michael's eye, and he alternately pines for her and laments ever meeting her.

I'm a HUGE Mark Tufo (and Mike Talbot) / Sean Runnette fan but after reading the Zombie Fallout series was a little hesitant to start Indian Hill. I was afraid it wouldn't be as good or I'd learn something about Mike's story that I didn't like. Boy was I wrong. As usual it was a great big pot (no pun intended) of humor, believable plot, interesting story and edge of your seat action. You could almost see it happening. It was nice to see Paul, Mike's childhood friend who is in the Zombie series, in a new light. He was much stronger in Indian Hill and much more of a leader. You was obvious why Mike and Paul were such good friends. With this "back story" I can fully appreciate their friendship. The only thing I would change would be the beginning - it was a little slow but man oh man did the middle/end make up for it. If you're debating on whether or not to use a credit on this book - don't........go now! I'm off to get part 2!

If you read the first two books and loved them like I did do yourself a favor and do NOT NOT NOT read this one. You will be disappointed beyond belief. I don't know what J.L. was thinking. The journal entry to 3rd person narrative I understand, don't like, but understand. The plot is weak, feels rushed and I swear I found myself restarting chapters over and over again. It was REALLY had to follow. Dry. It almost felt like a boring documentary that you watch at 3am on a Friday night. I am VERY disappointed. I was so excited to read book 3 and wish now I didn't.

Hopefully he'll get his act together and go back to what we readers love about his work. Military culture, jargon & info weaved into a great story and not "too" over our heads. J.L. Bourne are you reading this.................dude you dropped the ball on this one. Please if there's a book 4 read all of our reviews and take notes!!!!

If there's nothing else to read get it. If you're a fan don't waste your time you'll just get frustrated!!!

The village of Ashford, New Jersey, is about to discover terror. The Howler, a bloody killer who has already shredded six teens, is moving in. Seventeen-year-old Don Boyd doesn't need the grief. He's already under siege - jock trouble, girl trouble, school trouble, family trouble. Then one frosty autumn night, Don is jumped by the Howler. Suddenly they're surrounded by fog, green fire, the sound of iron striking iron.... And Ashford's real horror begins.

Don is a moody 17 year old "nobody". He's not a brainiac, not a jock, not a goth etc. Regular kid. His mom busies herself with anything including affairs to keep from being home. His father is the principal at Don's school and goes out of his way, even when it has been proven that Don's teachers are picking on him because of a labor dispute, to make sure Don is treated like any other student. Both parents apparently favor Don's deceased brother Sam. Don spends his time in his room with his friends which are models and paintings of animals. He talks to them, daydreams about them and tries to draw strength to get through the bullying he endures at school from the jocks. In comes a serial killer. The serial killer is murdered and then people who have "wronged" Don die as well. Yep. Don has managed to bring something evil into this world. It's not scary, there is absolutely nothing new in it. Same old story. Everyday kid - supernatural protector. Just look at the cover of the book and you can figure out who the protector is. It may as well be a cute furry bunny. I don't see that animal as scary. It's full of holes. Even when Don realized that getting upset with people he loves may bring about their death he still manages to get angry and vent aloud about his love interest having to run home before a curfew etc. Again nothing new, VERY slow start, character building was ok but Don is the same 17 year old kid I've "seen" or read about a gazillion times. I wouldn't purchase this again. If you're 14 and don't want to get too scared then use a credit. Off to the next one.........

Awesome series. There were a few zombie twists/scenes that were unexpected and nothing was really cliche. Characters were believable. I swear I'm still laughing at the exchange between Sara & her stoner boyfriend in the back of the pickup truck. "Dude you totally farted and it was girl fart" I'm telling you Fred Berman could be on a stage somewhere. He's good!

I mean I swear I listen to alot of books and this is the first one where the material, the scene setup & the presenter made me laugh outloud!

I actually liked both of the books in the series and was pleasantly surprised by that. I LOVE the way the authors set up a chapter so you know what's going to happen but you do NOT know the outcome. Talk about suspense! LOVE it!!!

If you're a walking dead, zombie, apocalypse or syfy fan you HAVE to get these books. I just wish there were more!
