Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are back on the job, settled into a personal and professional relationship built on fierce protectiveness and blistering passion. Now they’re assigned to impersonate two members of an international smuggling ring—an out-and-proud married couple—on a Christmas cruise in the Caribbean.

Would you listen to Fish & Chips again? Why?

Absolutely. I have already listened to it twice. I love the story of Ty & Zane. This is a progression of the other books. By being undercover as a married gay couple they get an idea what it would be like to actually be married.

What other book might you compare Fish & Chips to and why?

Any book in this series. I have another favorite series "In Death" by J.D. Robb. I wouldn't miss ANY book in either of these series because the authors in both series have made the characters very real-life real!

Have you listened to any of Sean Crisden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Sean Crisden has never disappointed me. This was just as good a narration as any other books he has done.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Be careful what you agree to, it might be something you can't life without!

Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and the other members of "Flock" - Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel - are just like ordinary kids - only they have wings and can fly. It seems like a dream come true - except that they're still being hunted by new threats at every turn.

Would you listen to The Final Warning again? Why?

    Maybe

What other book might you compare The Final Warning to and why?

The rest of the Maximum Ride books

What about Jill Apple’s performance did you like?

All of it. She brought ALL of the characters to life but she was really Max to the limit!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Max is dealing with her feelings for Fang and her jealousy. She tells Fang that "there is no me and you." And Fang responds, "There will ALWAYS be a me and you!"

  • The Black Box: Harry Bosch, Book 18

    Story
    (1507)

In a case that spans 20 years, Harry Bosch links the bullet from a recent crime to a file from 1992, the killing of a young female photographer during the L.A. riots. Harry originally investigated the murder, but it was then handed off to the Riot Crimes Task Force and never solved. Now Bosch's ballistics match indicates that her death was not random violence, but something more personal, and connected to a deeper intrigue. Like an investigator combing through the wreckage after a plane crash, Bosch searches for the "black box", the one piece of evidence that will pull the case together.

    "ANOTHER GREAT HARRY BOSCH STORY!!"

    Story
What made the experience of listening to The Black Box the most enjoyable?

Revisiting one of my favorite characters. I really like the way Connelly has had Bosch evolve over the years.

What did you like best about this story?

Bosch's interactions with his daughter; his unwavering principles; his lack of fear of internal investigations.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There are two scenes that come to mined: 1) The quiet showdown with Lt. O'Toole when he talked about the pending internal investigation and the fact that he (Bosch) would be the one still standing when it was over. 2) The statement he made to the Sherriff at the last of the book when he told him he was glad he was still alive after the helicopter crash and glad that he would live the rest of his life in prison for killing all the people he did, especially, the girl he killed 20 years earlier.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    A reckoning comes to all

    Any additional comments?

Near the end of this book I was afraid that Connelly was making this the end of the series. I'm so glad he didn't and I look forward to the next Harry Bosch book!

Carolyn knew everything about Veronica Campbell. She knew about the case of murder and retribution that haunted her life and her career. About her stormy relationship with her husband, Drew. About the emotional darkness that was overwhelming Veronica's fragile seventeen-year-old daughter, Jude. But seeing her friend laid out on a cold hard slab of steel in a morgue, and hearing the initial judgments of the investigators, she knows this: there's no way Veronica would have ever taken her own life.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Sum of All Fears to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print version . . . due to the length I would have went audio anyway.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Pretty much. Clancy knows how to build a story and I like the way he writes from the viewpoint of the various people that make up the end game. Any book I read from him always keeps me on the edge waiting for the next twist.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He's awesome as always. If I'm not sure on a book but see he's narrating I usually buy it!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both. I laughed in a sarcastic way from all of the political wrangling going on and I cried and felt bad for Jack and all the stress he was put through just because the National Security Adviser didn't like him and literally attacked his character throughout the book. I cried when the bomb when off in Denver (that scenario is all too real) and I cheered when he "got the last laugh" on the NSA and the President and thanked god he had the wherewithall to say no when needed and to go out on a limb to do what was right.

Would you listen to Blood Work again? Why?

Probably not. I expected it to be on the level of the Harry Bosch books . . . the characters didn't capture my attention as much.

Would you recommend Blood Work to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe . . . just because I didn't like it as much as I thought I would doesn't mean someone else wouldn't like it.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. His performance was great as always.
