Revisiting one of my favorite characters. I really like the way Connelly has had Bosch evolve over the years.

Bosch's interactions with his daughter; his unwavering principles; his lack of fear of internal investigations.

There are two scenes that come to mined: 1) The quiet showdown with Lt. O'Toole when he talked about the pending internal investigation and the fact that he (Bosch) would be the one still standing when it was over. 2) The statement he made to the Sherriff at the last of the book when he told him he was glad he was still alive after the helicopter crash and glad that he would live the rest of his life in prison for killing all the people he did, especially, the girl he killed 20 years earlier.

A reckoning comes to all

Near the end of this book I was afraid that Connelly was making this the end of the series. I'm so glad he didn't and I look forward to the next Harry Bosch book!

All of it. She brought ALL of the characters to life but she was really Max to the limit!

When Max is dealing with her feelings for Fang and her jealousy. She tells Fang that "there is no me and you." And Fang responds, "There will ALWAYS be a me and you!"

About in the middle of the pack

All of the other Carolyn Sullivan books

She brings the characters and settings to life. More like watching a movie.

Pretty much. Clancy knows how to build a story and I like the way he writes from the viewpoint of the various people that make up the end game. Any book I read from him always keeps me on the edge waiting for the next twist.

He's awesome as always. If I'm not sure on a book but see he's narrating I usually buy it!

Both. I laughed in a sarcastic way from all of the political wrangling going on and I cried and felt bad for Jack and all the stress he was put through just because the National Security Adviser didn't like him and literally attacked his character throughout the book. I cried when the bomb when off in Denver (that scenario is all too real) and I cheered when he "got the last laugh" on the NSA and the President and thanked god he had the wherewithall to say no when needed and to go out on a limb to do what was right.

Probably not. I expected it to be on the level of the Harry Bosch books . . . the characters didn't capture my attention as much.

Maybe . . . just because I didn't like it as much as I thought I would doesn't mean someone else wouldn't like it.

Yes. His performance was great as always.

Absolutely. The premise of the love story is more than two people and more than just romantic love. It is about making a family.

Edward Thomas. He started as a young college student in love/lust and became a man that understood the different forms of love and built a family on that foundation.

Yes. . . He's great.

WHEN DESTINY CALLS . . . LISTEN

The narrator was very good . . . I liked his protrayal of Sean King. I like Scott Brick on anything he narrates.

At the end when King was at his burned out home and he and Maxwell chose to start their own investigation agency.

The final showdown with Morris . . . the guy was as crazy as a loon and yet able to try to outsmart King . . . of course in the end King dealt with him!

No extreme reaction. I got caught up in the story, which is what I hope for in a good story, and really enjoyed the book.
