Alice begins her fantastic journey by following an unprecedented White Rabbit with a pocket watch. While in the topsy turvy world of Wonderland, Alice takes advice from a caterpillar and attends a mad tea party. She meets the Mock Turtle and the Gryphon, and participates in a ludicrous courtroom scene. Each character has its own charming voice, as B. J. Harrison delivers one of his most whimsical performances.

The conclusion goes along nicely, but the ending is abrupt and leaves you wondering. Actually, it's like the Peter Brett got tired of the series and just killed off the main characters to be rid of this trilogy and on to the next.
Between Pete Bradbury's long pauses, and Peter Brett's abrupt ending I don't thing I'll be buying any more of eithers books.

Pete Bradbury needs to really get rid of these long annoying pauses. I've got his name down on narrators I don't want to listen to again, to bad too, he has a great voice. The story line continues wonderfully though and since I bought all three books at the same time I'm on to the conclusion.

Peter V. Brett has won accolades from critics, fans and fellow authors alike for this riveting debut novel. The Warded Man features a world where demons stalk the night, hunting humans who have long forgotten the magic of their ancestors. But all is not lost, as some hold out hope that a savior will release humanity from the demons' terrifying reign.

A half-breed and a female, Lady Bethany clawed her way to the ranks of the Elven Service's top military elite. They only knew her as their champion against Magic, and not the daughter of a Goddess. She'd expected a long, rewarding life protecting those under her care. But that was before her twin sister returned from exile, addicted to brutal Magic and human sacrifice, twisted inside, and abusing ancient prophecies to overthrow their mother and destroy everything Bethany holds sacred. The world will burn in flames and innocents will die, unless Bethany can stop it. Unless she can take the life of her own sister.

From the 4 & 5 star reviews I expected something better than a "B" movie type book. The book is very slow and the main character is portrayed as a 70 year old teenager. Bethany, the main character is 70+ years old although she ages slowly she still looks young. But having 70+ years of experience has done nothing for her. So shows no sign of making good decisions, her decisions are still rash, and impulsive as a teens would be.
I've suffered through 6 chapters hoping it would get better as I bought both book 1 & 2 at the same time.
The narrators high pitched voice was another added annoyance.
I will steer clear of any other books by Krista D. Ball.and definitely away from any narration by Cori Samuel.

I wish there were half credits, this book is actually worth 2-1/2 credits. The story is slow throughout, uses sex scenes to keep interest but the story could be told in less time therefore to me not worth a whole credit.. The first half of of the book is a 29 yo female bitching about her upbringing and the second half she finally finds a boyfriend to ease her sexual cravings and then of course the plot??? Then the happy ending. Glad it's over.

Twenty-eight florins a month is a huge price to pay for a man to stand between you and the Wild. Twenty-eight florins a month is nowhere near enough when a wyvern's jaws snap shut on your helmet in the hot stink of battle, and the beast starts to rip the head from your shoulders. But if standing and fighting is hard, leading a company of men - or worse, a company of mercenaries - against the smart, deadly creatures of the Wild is even harder. It takes all the advantages of birth, training, and the luck of the devil to do it.

    Story

The story was good but a lot of military ramblings that allowed my mind to wander. I like to know whats happening in the battle and how the characters set the scene but sometimes a little less is better.
And a lot of strong language, but I guess in a military camp there will be strong language. - - - I did keep wondering though 'Did they use that particular cuss word when the knights were around', then I'd think it's not actually earths timing but fantasy". As I said, This book did not keep my interest enough to keep my mind from wondering. It was like when you are cornered by someone at a gathering and they go on and on, and on and on, And you think "I really should pick up some milk on the way home"... And then they actually say something interesting or ask you a question, that's when you back the book up 30 seconds or so to hear what happened.
I gave it an overall 4 stars because although it's not my cup of tea, the main story itself was enjoyable (once you get past the babbling) and I'm sure there are some out there that would appreciate all that military babble.

Paolini did it again in Eldest. I wasn't crazy about the voice change for Saphira but I got used to it after a bit. I don't know why authors and editors don't insist on consistency with the narrators and allow them to change things mid stream. Its frustrating but I would buy the book again even knowing this.

Eldest continues with a great and complex plot and characters that readers care about. Book 2 is also kid friendly. I've already downloaded book 3.

When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; perhaps it will buy his family meat for the winter. But when the stone brings a dragon hatchling, Eragon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire itself.

    Story

Eragon, son of a dragon rider is secretly taken to a small town and given to and raised by his uncle and aunt as their own son for his safety. Eragon's father disguised himself as a storyteller and moved to Carvahal to be near his son and secretly watch his son grow and inspire him with possibilities through stories.

While hunting Eragon found a beautiful rock, which turned out to be a dragon egg that hatched a couple of days later. Eragon names the hatchling Saphira and the adventure begins.

This is a fantastic story and one that can be enjoyed by all. There are no explicit sex scenes that really have nothing to do with the story or plot.
