Living in a peaceful, prosperous African-American neighborhood in Los Angeles, Mack Street is a mystery child who has somehow found a home. Discovered abandoned in an overgrown park, raised by a blunt-speaking single woman, Mack comes and goes from family to family, a boy who is surrounded by boisterous characters and yet deeply alone.

I really enjoyed this fantasy novel featuring a cast of African-American characters. I read the Author's comments on how he came to create such a wonderful tale. He stayed true to the concept, the characters and the plot.

PECCAVI. The Latin word is scrawled in blood at the scene of a young woman's brutal murder: I HAVE SINNED. It's a chilling Christmas greeting for Boston medical examiner Maura Isles and Detective Jane Rizzoli, who swiftly link the victim to controversial celebrity psychiatrist Joyce O'Donnell, Jane's professional nemesis and member of a sinister cabal called the Mephisto Club.

Wow! I'm the first to write a review for this book. Well if you're tired of downloading books that you thought were exciting based on the synopsis only to be left disappointed after listening to it, you're in for a real treat with this book. This is a solid 10 with two thumbs up! The plot will keep you on the edge of your seat and once it unravels and all the pieces are fit together, you'll want to jump out of your seat. The narrator did a superb job, she was not boring at all and she did a good job of voicing the different characters. The setting is Boston and anyone who is familiar with Boston will be able to visualize Boston as the narrator tells the story.

Also, the story delves into some really spine tingling stuff concerning religion and other worldly forces. You will not be disappointed.

Huzaa! A fine collection of Science Fiction that will satisfy your imagination. Each narrator did an excellent job of retelling the stories.

The huge Manhattan Dome hovers high in the smog. Beneath it, the city lies deserted, its buildings haunted, hollow shells. Years ago it was closed by the government in response to insidious crime and pollution. Now it is open only 2 months out of the year as a sort of morbid recreational park, and its only residents are the poor and downtrodden...

The plot was ok. However this is the second audiobook I have suffered through narrated (er overly dramatized) by Harlan Ellison. He goes overboard with the theatrics and I am beginning to think that he is not even reading the books as they were meant to be read (word for word). Rather he is putting his own over-the-top spin on it. Thats fine if you are reading to a group of children but we are adults and its difficult to get the full experience of a book when he is putting his own spin on the story. Some of it is downright painful to listen to. His voicing of the characters was cartoonish. Especially Sylvia. I would have been perfectly fine with him telling us (the listner) that Sylvia was a typical New York girl, complete with that thick, Brooklyn accent. I am then able to formulate in my mind what she may have looked like and how she may have sound. The expierence would be diffrent for each listener because we would all have a diffrent idea of what Sylvia is like based on our own experiences with New Yorkers. Much of this is lost. This should be labeled a Dramatization rather that a narration. In the future ,I will be careful to pick books that AREN'T narrated by Harlan Ellison. He ruined an otherwise good book.

Legends say that The Keeper of Time resides in an obscure dimension on a small planet called Arlantia. For millenniums the Keepers dedicated their lives to ensure that time flowed in perfect harmony with reality, until the kinks in time changed the course of reality.

Is is just me or was I listening to an Elementary School production in a cafeteria/multipurpose room. The dialog was dry and uninteresting. The characters are unremarkable. To top that all off, the story was difficult to follow -"Your the keeper of time", "No I'm not", "yes you are", "No I'm Not..." The dialog was poor. You best Keeper your money.

What can I say. Every book in the Left Behind Series is superb! This is no exception. The Regime is the second part to the Before they were Left Behind Novels. It provides the backstory to the characters and events that led up to the Rapture. The narrator is excellent! His voice is smooth and convincing.

The cause of the devastation is a phenomenon that will come to be known as The Pulse, and the delivery method is a cell phone. Everyone's cell phone. Clay and the few desperate survivors who join him suddenly find themselves in the pitch-black night of civilization's darkest age, surrounded by chaos, carnage, and a human horde that has been reduced to its basest nature...and then begins to evolve.

Steven King is a wicked writer - no question. His books and movies based on his books are very entertaining. This novel was pretty damn good but it left a lot of open-ended questions like, where did the pulse come from? Who did it come from? Why did they/it do it and what happened to civilization after the revolt? I hate being teased and Steven King is a master tease.

This reads more like a fantasy/fairy tale wather that a romance novel. What man lets a woman into his home and take over the interior decorating? I found myself wanting to punch Cass's lights out. She was annoying, inconsiderate, bossy and immature. Ian was lamb being led to the slaughter. Read at your risk.

I have read all the novels with the exception of The Rising. I purchased the audio book and boy! oh boy! I was like a kid in a candy store. I listened to this book in just one day. Every chance I got (lunch break, break, on the way to and from work), I listened. The narrator was exciting to listen to and the story was well written. Way to go! I'd give it ten stars If I could!
