Two decades after the Civil War, first-generation Irish-American Zachary O'Hara, son of a legendary Marine and a force of a man in his own right, finds himself playing a critical role as the very existence of the Marine Corps is being decided. If he can help persuade the Secretary of the Navy that the Marines will be crucial to America's security in years to come, all the while hefting a heavy, secret weight in his heart, he'll save the Corps and make his career.

This paticular book is great. It is especially excellent for those that want to know about the "Old Corps". The story does remind me of Web Griffin. Many interconnecting people - well woven. Kept me interested.

Troy Phelan is a self-made billionaire, one of the richest men in the United States. He is also eccentric, reclusive, confined to a wheelchair, and looking for a way to die. His potential heirs, to no one's surprise - especially Troy's - are circling like vultures. But Troy shocks them all when he leaves his fortune to an estranged, illegitimate daughter.

A real "got you" book, very difficult to put down. Excellent pace and plot. I was a bit disappointed in the ending. It became too obvious.

In a village on the Suffolk coast, Frank Perry waits for his past to arrive. He believed it would never catch up with him, that he was safe. A decade before, he spied for the government on the Iranian chemical and biological weapons installations. He had privileged access and his information damaged their killing capacity for years. Now, Iran will have its revenge and has dispatched its most deadly assassin to fulfill the task.

Ellen says: "Well written, timely thriller with a message"
"A Line in the Sand - SUPERIOR"
    Overall

This was an expensive book to listen to, since it was so riveting that I would sit in my car (where I do the majority of my listening) and we all know the price of gas these days....:):):) I should have remembered to shut off the motor...
Anyway I have been a audio book customer for a number of years and this is one of the best.
