Because I wanted to know what exactly was going on, I kept listening but the end, the payoff, was weak. The journey was entertaining but the "discovery" of what it was all about was disappointing. Good narrator and the first three fourths of the book was interesting enough to keep me listening but I won't read or listen to the next one.
I am very hard to please when it comes to audio books. So many of them bore me and I just can't finish them. With a bad book, I find myself daydreaming or lost in some other thought while the narrator prattles on. Not the case with this book. This is an intriguing story that held my attention throughout. I saw the movie and was hesitant to try the book but I had read they are not that similar. I found that I really didn't remember much about the movie and it did not affect my experience with the book. This is a very vivid, well written book that really pulls you into someone's world. Definitely worth a credit!
At this point, I've heard so many bad audiobooks, if one keeps me listening, I'm happy. Although the story is pretty out there and sometimes a bit stupid, Dean Koontz knows how to tell a story. I was entertained and this book held my attention the entire time. The narrator was great. Not the best Dean Koontz but good and I gave it four stars because I wanted to keep listening. A good, not great, paranormal story that was worth the credit.
Really great self help book but you need to listen to the second half. I kept wanting to know how to do what Abraham was saying to do. That's in part two...
This book is totally boring but it sure takes forever to get around to anything happening. I don't know how it ends and didn't have he patience to find out. Can I get my credit back?
Wow. Talk about much ado about nothing. This book and this so called true story is just plain stupid. I am a pretty open minded person and I would love to think a child visited heaven and has come back to tell us all about it. But there is absolutely NOTHING compelling about what this child says. The author freaks out because his child says, "Daddy, did you know Jesus loves the children?" Wow. How earth shattering that the child of a preacher would make that statement. I am sure there is no way he's ever heard that before. This book is basically about how two parents latched onto everything their child said and encouraged the kid with their reactions to spout a few pieces of scripture and make up stories about heaven. If he did really go to heaven, then the author embellished this story in such a way that they completely discredit the event. The most astounding thing about this book is that anyone has bought into it.
I have never had much of interest in Marilyn Monroe but that was because I didn't know much about her. She is such a fascinating person and this book about her life is enthralling. I love hearing everything about her life. Great book!
I never knew how interesting biographies could be. This is a fascinating book about a fascinating woman. A great listen!
Another boring book I can't finish. No idea what this is even about since I didn't have the patience to keep listening. I hate wasting credits.
I can't believe I took so long to download this audio book. One of the best I have heard yet! I have purchased so many audio books I can't even finish listening to. This is one I can't put away! I really need to find more like this. Great narration, great story telling, suspenseful and engrossing. TOTALLY worth two credits!!!!
Yet another audio book I couldn't finish. Got through a couple of chapters but just couldn't force myself to keep listening. I don't know why everything thinks this is so hilarious. Didn't laugh out loud once - not even a little. If you like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you won't like this.
