"Yawn!"
I am a fan of the Alex Cross series but this one was a disappointment. The book was much shorter than most of the Alex Cross books, and the lack of character development obvious. And rather than being left with a warm holiday feeling, my main emotion was annoyance at the annoying whining grandmother and wife who couldn't accept that a police officer might be subject to being called out on a Holiday. It was totally unbelievable that Bree would go to a hostage situation and ask that Alex go home.
Put some effort into it. A side story about the new foster child might have added to my interest.
NEVER
Why was this 6 hour book broken into two parts? Come on Audible, we don't need to "make the download faster" with a story this short.
"Still waiting for the unabridged version!"
I really want to listen to this one- but am waiting on the unabridged version (supposedly due out four months ago).
"A light listen that kept me listening"
Although I normally prefer unabridged books, the abridging of this one was very well done. It's an excellent mystery and the charactors are memorable. I'd like to be able to listen to previous novels of the same series and I'm looking forward to Sudden Death. The only thing I could have done without was the music- more of a distraction than anything else.
"Murder and mayhem in the parks"
Enjoyed the story, but agree with a previous reviewer that this one is somewhat darker than the previous novels in the series. Narration was a bit distracting with frequent mouth noises. I'd like to see the handicapped climber and her dog in future books.
"Dreadful"
I've downloaded many books from Audible, and this was the first that I didn't enjoy. Perhaps the author's style just doesn't work in the audible format.
