"Actual, intelligent discussion of current events"
Yes, believe it or not, there is a refuge from the partisan rhetoric of the Democrats and Republicans. The Cato Institute is a libertarian think tank devoted to the proposition that the government should stay out of your bedroom and out of your wallet to the greatest extent possible. This is the notion on which our country was founded, even if modern politicians and pundits tend to forget that. I have found the discussions and lecture excerpts on Cato Audio to be both interesting and informative. The only drawback is that they leave me angry with both the Republicans and the Democrats. I think that if you listen to a few of these, you will agree that most Americans are actually Libertarians, even if they don't yet know it.
"Still stunning"

yes, and because this book is so good, Davis's performance seems much better. Or perhaps he likes reading this book, too!
several
For anyone old enough to remember life before the internet, this book described what we would come to know as the World Wide Web. Technically, the WWW predated the book by a couple years, but the public was almost completely unaware of the Web when the book was published in 1992 - I certainly was! I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say that as with any great SciFi (or whatever genre Stephenson may be) writer, the technologists (black and white hats alike) are still working to make his visions a reality.
"surprisingly wonderful"
I think I had heard of Ender's Game before I bought it, but maybe that's just 20/20 hindsight. It was fabulous! A great novel, scifi or not - and I like scifi, so it was particularly terrific.
"Fascinating!"
As the authors point out in advance, there is no unifying theme among the studies discussed in the book, except that they all demonstrate Levitt's genius. The data he analyzes seems meticulously gathered, and his conclusions are sound, in part because he is careful not to claim too much. Too many "experts" claim to know more than they do, and end up deceiving the American people. Levitt is refreshingly honest about his research and results.
