What made the experience of listening to Prince Charming the most enjoyable?

The main characters were strong and smart. The tale had loads of substance and plot. It wasn't just about two idiots pining over each other.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Taylor, because she wasn't an idiot. She was a good strong Lead.

Which character – as performed by Rosalyn Landor – was your favorite?

Taylor. She has a good accent for British society. Her american man accent needed a little work at first.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Daniel/David Switching names was inventive and fun.

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

Would you listen to Where'd You Go, Bernadette again? Why?

Probably not, just because there are so many books out there.

What did you like best about this story?

Every person in the book had flaws and likable traits. She is good at exploring how most people will react to any situation differently from others and the stories behind why.

What about Kathleen Wilhoite’s performance did you like?

Her voice is unique, pleasant, and flowed well with the story line.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were some very funny parts, but none that made me laugh out loud.

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this. it was suspenseful and kept me interested the whole way through. I was a little mad at the husband.

Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

What did you like best about And One Last Thing...? What did you like least?

Her main character had some glimpses of having a backbone. She was starting to become her own person after having been a doormat all her life. She never financially supported herself though. Everything she ever had was given to her even though she was intelligent and could easily have been more self supporting. Her father was an emotionally unsupportive, self absorbed ass.

If you’ve listened to books by Molly Harper before, how does this one compare?

This was my first. I might give her another try. I prefer strong main characters who fight the good fight, instead of weak people who are handed everything, then thrust out on their own.

Which character – as performed by Amanda Ronconi – was your favorite?

The girl who wanted to start the website was good except for being too angry. The main male character was ok.

Did And One Last Thing... inspire you to do anything?

No, I'm already a strong self supportive person.

    Any additional comments?

I really wanted to like this book. There are parts of it I liked a lot. The main character started to become a strong person, but then just fell back into the same patterns she started with. She is like the women at the country club that I don't like because they are just window dressing.

Judith Hampton was as beautiful as she was proud and loyal. Her dear Scottish friend from childhood was about to give birth, and Judith had promised to be at her side. But there was another reason for the journey from her bleak English home to the Highlands: to meet the father she had never known, the Laird Maclean. Nothing prepared her, however, for the sight of the Scottish barbarian who was to escort her into his land...Iain Maitland, laird of his clan, a man more powerfully compelling than any she had ever encountered.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Secret to be better than the print version?

I build things at work, so I can only listen to them because I need my hands to turn screws. I think they are similar. Audio is better only because it's hands free.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoy Julie Garwoods' writing style. I usually am quite entertained by her female leads strength and drive to accomplish difficult goals. The Heroine was very likable. The hero probably would have been too, without the creepy whispering voice for him.

What does Susan Duerden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice is nice, I enjoy her accent. her inflection and the creepy whispering for the male lead were off putting.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I am a glutton with books. I want to listen to/read all of them in one sitting.

    Any additional comments?

Susan Duerden has a pleasant voice, I would probably like listening to her again, if she changed up her inflections more and got rid of the creepy man whisper.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If the main female character had been a stronger person and not so wishy/washy. If the sex left a little more to the imagination

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It seemed rushed, like she just wanted the story done with. Anticlimactic.

Have you listened to any of Anne Flosnik’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not. She did a good job her voice is pleasant.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

it was disappointing. Usually Ms Garwood does much better. Ransom is what made me give romance novels another try.

    Any additional comments?

I really like Julie Garwood, this just wasn't her best effort. Usually her main characters are pretty fearless after coming from tragedy. I will purchase her books again. Every one can't get knocked out of the park every time.

Once she escapes and finds herself in 15th Century Scotland, she believes her return home depends on a heroic deed - she must rescue a plaid-clad Romeo and Juliet before tragedy can end in tragedy. The monster standing in her way, however, is a handsome Highlander who might just be her own Romeo...a Romeo she must leave behind.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

    no:
I had to really concentrate to her what he was saying because he slurs his words so bad. I kept having to rewind and re listen to figure out what he was saying.

What did you like best about this story?

The story flowed well. It was enough of a mystery to keep me interested enough to hear the whole thing. The romantic sections weren't too explicit. I never had to hear the word nipple, manhood, or the phrase "to the core". Which I appreciate greatly.

Would you be willing to try another one of Shandon Loring’s performances?

    nope

Do you think Going Back for Romeo needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Sure, as long as the guy reading it isn't drunk.

    Any additional comments?

Shandon loring could be awesome if he enunciated. When he wasn't doing the super deep voice and slurring he sounded ok.

Defiant Highland beauty Fiona Sinclair is shocked by her brothers’ treachery. To seal a fragile truce, they have traded her hand in marriage to their sworn enemy, a man she has never met, a man she was raised to despise. With no choice but to wed, Fiona makes her own private vow: Though she may sacrifice her freedom, she will never surrender her heart. Commanded into marriage by the king, Myles Campbell is no more willing than his reluctant bride. Still, she is a rare beauty, passionate enough to warm even the coldest marriage bed.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The main character always talked about sticking to her guns, but every time she caved. She was moody, weak, dumb, and thoroughly unlikable. All the other "good guy" characters were well written. I would try this author again...If she could write her heroine as well as her hero. The main characters "good" brother was a weak, backstabbing, louse as well. The author shows promise, maybe next time.

What was most disappointing about Tracy Brogan’s story?

    The heroine was weak

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

    Seemed to

Was Highland Surrender worth the listening time?

    no
