With her brother wrongfully accused of embezzling millions, Kerry Sullivan can't face one more humiliating hang-up from the man she's begging for help. Rafael Dawson may be one of the top electronic security experts in the country - and the only man who can prove her brother's innocence - but his phone manners are appalling. Too bad kidnapping the man isn't an option. Or is it? There's nothing Kerry wouldn't do for her brother, and there are lots of things she longs to do to Rafe Dawson when he's lying tied-up and naked in her secret hideaway.

Where does Bound and Determined rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed it and I'll listen again. It's an easy, fun listen. If you are looking for a deep, meaningful book you probably want to pass. However, if you are looking for a sexy escape and far out scenario (some are kind of eyeball rolling, but fun) don't bother you-give it a go!

What other book might you compare Bound and Determined to and why?

This is Chic Lit with adult content and a bit of action. I'd compare it to anything else by Shayla Black/Lexi Blake.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Aletha George?

Yes, unfortunately my favorite authors seem to pick her for their books. She's adequate but there are more talented narrators out there.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

What did you like best about High Risk? What did you like least?

    -

Beth has a perfect life, she is married to a well respected lawyer. She serves on committees and looks the part. We soon learn that she has a very dark side to her proper one. She plans trysts with men. Not just A man, looking for a mistress but men who live on the edge. She wants men that disrespecting her as well as themselves. And she loves it.

One day a chance encounter brings her to meet Abbott. He is handsome, beautiful, a strong, alpha male (all of the usual clichés.) However he does not act like the rest of her suitors. When she finds that her husband is on his way home Abbott is in no hurry to leave – making Beth sweat before disappearing at the last second.

Abbott is everything vile, reprehensible, disgusting, and twisted that one could imagine. I have read a lot and this one hit on every topic.

You may not want to read this part as it could be considered spoiling, however this book hits some pretty dark places including rape and torture.

The author kind of skipped around from one bad situation to another more awful situation. It had a thread of continuous storytelling but it was just that, a thread.

The narration was really good. The array of characters and the different situations would be quite a challenge, but are performed very well. Kudos to the performer.

Those who read my reviews for hot romances will probably steer clear of this one.

Notes: Violence, strong language, sexual situations (including but not limited to deviation, molestation and rape)

Creditworthy/$: No on both from my perspective...too dark, graphic and lack of plot. I was given a copy of this title in exchange for my review. I cannot advise using a credit.

    Mystery man by Kristen Ashley

I began this book with some trepidation as I thoroughly enjoyed KA Colorado series - from that I went to the Rock Chick series – which were a completely different style of writing, plots and other changes. It reminded me of Janet Evanovich and her series about Stephanie Plum. It was good, just not what I expected or desired.

The mystery man series seems to be more like the light version of KA Colorado. I am still digesting it and trying to figure out my true feelings.

Here's what I have decided. I liked it, it kept my interest and was sexy with a plot. I'm not going to rush and redeem credits for by the rest of the series but they will remain on my WishList if they come up in the sale.

    The narration was good.

Notes: mature themes and strong language

Credit worthy/$: Try the first in the series. I deem it creditworthy and once you've listened you can make your own decision about the rest of the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rising Tides?

    *

In the second installment of the series we are focused on Ethan, his past and it the similarities to young Seth.

Grace is a young mother who is doing any job she can to make a life for her young daughter. She is the housekeeper at the family home (Ethan and brothers) by day & barmaid/waitress by night.

Grace and Ethan have known each other forever and she has always had a thing for him & him for her. Ethan doesn't want to think about Grace, as she is quite a bit younger than him. This is a great romance story.

However, it is much more than a simple romance – actually complex romance. Much of the focus is on Ethan's life before he met the Quinn family and they rescued him from a horrible past. But because of that past he does not believe he is deserving or can care or love anyone.

Great narration – feminine female, male toddler, 12-year-old & elderly man are all done with near perfection.

I absolutely love this series. I just bought the last two!.

Notes: Description of sex, few cusses, the subject of child molestation runs throughout the book as characters try to deal with past.

Credit worthy/$ : Absolutely on either. I can to continue with the series but at the same time I want to take my time because I don't want to series to and. Does that make sense?

When I saw this download was only 52 minutes long I didn't expect much much. Wow! Was I wrong? This super condensed (time wise) murder mystery was packed with action and adventure in a way that was not at all rushed.

The narrator did a fantastic job and kept the story going not only because it was well-written but because it was performed well. Two thumbs up!

*I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my thoughts opinions & review.*

Given that scenario, I am rarely interested in follow-up books based on the story. I really was impressed with this recording both as a story and the narration – I will be looking for more titles by this author & performances by this narrator.

Jason is single and has been for all of his 32 years. It's depressing. But not as depressing as being told by his mother that he looks like Humpty Dumpty - after the accident. With a face that not even his own mother can love, it's hardly surprising that he'll try anything to get a woman to go out with him, even if it's only for a single date. With little interest in anything other than his quest for a woman and a nice bit of cod and chips, Jason needs to think outside the box if he's going to find someone who'll give him a chance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dating in the Dark?

    -
When I saw the title and the book jacket I wasn't sure what to expect. I've never listened to this narrator for rent this author before. It turns out that Dating in the Dark is literally what the book is about.

30 year old , vertically challenged man is seeking a date. He's no prize to look at-almost anyone will do, he tried speed dating (no one even responded) dating friends friends, etc. but has NO LUCK. So he signs up with an agency focused on dating for the disabled. He decides that he's short - a "disability" sorta, but buys a pair a dark glasses.

He meets a lovely lady who is blind and is interested in a date with him. After ONE date he really thinks this could go somewhere. However he is stuck in his "lie" of not been disabled. So a challenging set of events occur as he tells his friends and they tried to help him come clean. That while he is vertically challenged, he is NOT blind.

It was charming, fun and light without being too girly. I think a guy would like listening to this for the banter and the challenge, as well.

The narrator was very good. Perfect for the material written.

    Notes: Some strong language

I love Julie Garwood and am always excited to listen to a book by her. This one had me in its grips, just enough romance, mystery and action… Great stuff! Then at about the midway point it just got silly. Not even the normal cookie-cutter alpha male and delicate female, I have no other word and silly.

Don't hold this review against the author. However there are many more of her books both historical and contemporary, that are a lot of fun, dramatic etc. Look into her Hotshot series for contemporary and almost any of her historical have received four stars from me for story and overall.

Tanya Eby does an adequate job with the material given – it is performed as a story instead of the narrator trying to jump into different roles.

Notes: A few racy scenes in the boudoir

Credit worthy/$: I would not use a credit nor pay full price for this Julie Garwood I'm pretty sure I got this on sale-either paid outright or if it was a 2 for 1 credit opportunity.

Fiction, fact or anything in between. It is all here... the agreements, slights, etc. For me it was interesting look at a political party inside of the political part, in this case, the democratic national party.

The two power couples have their highs and lows and in betweens. Follow Edward Klein's tipsters & former staff, as he relates a tale of national and worldwide interest while explaining from his "sources" what was really going on behind the scenes.

It is full of questions and answers that one would never have even considered. I'm like the armchair quarterback having watched the game and seeing how it could also played out differently, if only.

From loyalty, unspoken spoken, to expectations HRC was presumed Democratic Party she suddenly is upstaged by a younger, articulate (when the teleprompters are rolling *smiles*,) chants of hope and change that leaves her wondering what happened..

It was interesting to me and on occasion I could say to myself 'yeah that explains what happened.'

    Narration was average to engaged

Set in the 1960s this is a book about a child who grows up quickly in a fatherless home at times and then some nefarious things happen leading her to a life far away from Mississippi.

In the story or writing similar to 'The Help' or the later chapters of Caine River, on a more personal and darker side, I really enjoyed listening.

My one small complaint is that the timeline of the book did not match the timeline of the period in which the story was told.

Their arson modern things pointed out that were not available during the 60s. Other than that it was excellent and enjoyed it.

The narration was admirable and easy to listen to. The southern accent was believable and exemplary exemplary

Abandoned tells three tales of people lost and trying to find their way. The journey from here to there isn't ever as straight and obvious as it seems. "To Build a Helicopter" recounts story of a man whose girlfriend unceremoniously dumps him at a party because of his lack of ambition. He'll seek solace in two piles: one of LEGO pieces, and the other cocaine. He'll use them both to build something to prove his worth.

Underlying Anger Frustration Of A Man X3

Perhaps I am a bit naïve in my life experience, but I'm not sure of the purpose of a collection of this sort.

Story #1 To Build a Helicopter: is about a man was listening to his ex-girlfriend entertaining two other men in the next room, while he is prepping cocaine while playing with Legos? I understand the angst of his situation from a relationship standpoint but could not see where the Lego proportion came in

Story #2 The Meaning of Words – this one made a bit more sense, especially as it closed. There is a man is "stalking" a hairdresser. It is full of descriptions. The end is a twist that caught me off guard.

Story #3: Shots and Strippers as the publishers summary recounts night in the life of a party kid. It did show the content of one of the party goers character. *I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my opinions, thoughts & this review.*

I appreciated Joe DiNozzi's performance. It was professional and as personable as the book of short stories would allow. I would like to hear more of his work and believe he could do a great job with whatever material he was given to perform

Notes: strong language, descriptions of nudity
Credit worthy/$: To me this not credit worthy. It is less than an hour long and the current price is $3.95. If you want to get a taste of Jim Haskett and/or Joe DiNozzi

So this is it... the final book in the series, or is it?

Colton & Rylee finally break through the walls of their separate issues that are keeping them apart.

However, Colton has a bad accident that takes his memory away, selectively. Rylee goes through her own physical trauma.

There is a lot of crying which turned me off because I am not of the thought that crying men are sensitive and emotional. I kept yelling, "Man up dude!"

Just what I was starting to get bored with the story (it had slowed) we finally get the real, deep down reason that has kept Colton from loving anyone but the Rylee his entire life.

Colton's past is very graphic and disturbing, if I give any more of a description then it would be a spoiler. Besides all of the crying that came before and after, it was a really dramatic moment and as I said very graphic and disturbing.

The end seems to tie up all of the loose strings. However, I noticed that there is a fourth book that has recently been released. The description sounds like #4 is redundant. I doubt I'll purchase it (unless it's super cheap.)

The narrators are great! As you may have read in my previous review I enjoyed the male and female trade-offs of two narrators. I think that it brought another good dimension to the listening experience. I appreciate each of the narrators and have listen to them separately, however in this series I prefer the dual narration

Notes: Strong language, descriptions of sex (including rape)

Credit worthy/$: Yes & yes. But you must listen to them in order so that you can follow the characters and the story line easier.
