    Sexy, touching, hot

What was one of the most memorable moments of Saddled and Spurred?

The end was packed with emotion...I am not an overly sappy person & this ending had my heart clenching, butterflies in my stomach & emotions all twisted up!

What made the experience of listening to The Gamble the most enjoyable?

*25 Hours Of Fantastic Romance/Adventure? I didn't think it would be possible to keep my attention this long. Happily, I was wrong, this book delivered every minute full of adventure romance and mystery- a job well done.

While the beginning premise was a bit cheesy (nor original.) It quickly drew me in with the sexy scenes and meeting all of the new characters.
I can't wait for the rest of the series.

A few instances of 'high school dreaminess' (all the cliches) weren't necessary. This seems to be very strong and I really enjoyed the mystery adventure portion of it as well as the romance side

Which character – as performed by Emma Taylor – was your favorite?

I think the female lead, Nina, was the best performed by Emma Taylor although she was great with male voices as well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I do not have first extreme reactions to books -they're books- I did enjoy this one and looked forward to the next in the series.

    Any additional comments?

I got this on sale for $5.95. As soon as I finished I got the next 3 books in the series!
    DEFINITELY creditworthy, in my opinion.

There isn't much fun in the sun when a billionaire real estate tycoon is found murdered on the Tilt-a-Whirl at a seedy seaside amusement park in the otherwise quiet summer tourist town of Sea Haven. John Ceepak, a former MP just back from Iraq, has just joined the Sea Haven police department. The job offer came from an old Army buddy who hoped to give Ceepak at least a summer's worth of rest and relaxation to help him forget the horrors of war. Instead, Ceepak will head up the murder investigation.

What would have made Tilt-a-Whirl better?

It was just an average listen-rather predictable...ordinary the end will challenge you.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Average, the male voices were good. The female and children performances were not strong-which is problematic as 2 main characters were an 8 year old and her mother.

    Any additional comments?

I read this only a month ago and I can't remember much about it. That's not good.

This is the first in a series perhaps it gets better. I got it on sale, NOT credit worthy in my opinion.

Her fantasies and daydreams have sustained her, but she's no longer content with merely imagining the touch of his hands, the taste of his kiss. It's time to seduce the tough, sexy cowboy. She's heard the rumors for years, the tales of his sexual preferences. She's prepared herself to accept his desires. Prepared her body for his touch. But she wasn't prepared for the choice to come...

What disappointed you about Marly's Choice?

It seemed like I was listening to a bunch of scenes [perhaps cut from previous work] thrown together. It was confusing. There was no coherent plot - and I don't require much when listening in this genre.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Audible just had a romance sale and there are a few new to me authors/titles I purchased. I also have 'Takedown' by Brad Thor ready, for something more serious and complex.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

    It was average.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Nope, not one. Books in this category are like candy to me-empty calories that make me feel good-this was like the dentist visit afterwards.

    Any additional comments?

Lora Leigh was the first author I listened to in this genre-Maverick is fantastic, Wildcard was a great followup. After those two I quickly downloaded a few more of Lora Leigh's titles - nothing else has come close - not even in the same zip code, city, state, country, etc.

I want to love more of her books (I have listened to almost all of the books available by LL on Audible*) I think I'm a fair reviewer, maybe I'm bit more critical than when I began, but I don't think that is the case. I think the first two I read are as good as she gets [they were good] and everything else is mediocre, lazy.

    Goodbye Lora Leigh...

*I have not read any of her Breeds or Sci-Fi/Fantasy work - these subjects do not interest me.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This was on sale & I was on the fence but bought the book because of the narrator. (Tatiana Sokolov is excellent)

I listened and tried to like the book, but the characters were unlikeable-just awful. I can understand and sympathize with flawed, broken, damaged characters but the author really gave nothing about them for me to like.

What was most disappointing about Madeline Sheehan’s story?

    See above.

Warning: This is not a typical, sappy love story. This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It's intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn't happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops - with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache - over the span of a lifetime.

Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with the bikers in the club, this is the only lifestyle she knows. When she's a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the sexy biker bad-ass of the Hell's Horsemen Motorcycle Club. Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club - but that's where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love. Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and bloodshed that could tear them apart. Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself - a man worthy of love - and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can't live without.

This is Eva and Deuce's story.

Have you listened to any of Tatiana Sokolov’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, yes, yes. She is fantastic! A 5* performer. The subject matter of this book was the only thing lacking.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A redeeming quality in a character - they were as horrible to one another as they were to their enemies.

    Any additional comments?

    Strong language and intimate scenes.

Would you listen to Fall from India Place again? Why?

Probably, but not right away. I'll read it again with the entire series later.

If you’ve listened to books by Samantha Young before, how does this one compare?

This is the fourth [full length] in the series On Dublin Street. I've only read the books in this series and find it an enjoyable, contemporary romance.

Most of Samantha Young's other work is listed as Young Adult - I felt this book had a few 'roll your eyes' moments but overall a solid work.

    Summary:

When Hannah Nichols last saw Marco D'Alessandro five long years ago, he broke her heart. The bad boy with a hidden sweet side was the only guy Hannah ever loved - and the only man she's ever been with. After one intense night of giving in to temptation, Marco took off, leaving Scotland and Hannah behind. Shattered by the consequences of their night together, Hannah has never truly moved on.

A sweet romance-a few surprises and overall enjoyable. Note: Some descriptions of sex.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes, get rid of the whole 'reality' of the paranormal. It would have been a great book based on folklore & legend - the characters researching the history of the house would have been able to come to similar ending. All the weirdness of living characters bodies being taken over by people from the past - and the super creepy ending - made this a two star read.

What three words best describe James Daniels and Sandra Burr ’s voice?

    I found them o.k.

    Any additional comments?

Bought this at $5 less sale. I would not have bought it had I known about the paranormal element.

Declan Fitzgerald had always been the family maverick, but even he couldn't understand his impulse to buy a dilapidated mansion on the outskirts of New Orleans. All he knew was that ever since he saw Manet Hall, he'd been enchanted - and obsessed - with it. So when the opportunity to buy the house comes up Declan jumps at the chance to live out a dream.

Determined to restore Manet Hall to its former splendor, Declan begins the daunting renovation room by room, relying on his own labor and skills. But the days spent in total isolation in the empty house take a toll. He is seeing visions of days from a century past, and experiencing sensations of terror and nearly unbearable grief - sensations not his own, but those of a stranger. Local legend has it that the house is haunted, and with every passing day Declan's belief in the ghostly presence grows.

Only the companionship of the alluring Angelina Simone can distract him from the mysterious happenings in the house, but Angelina too has her own surprising connection to Manet Hall - a connection that will help Declan uncover a secret that's been buried for a hundred years.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Definitely Probably not, this was an average, predictable plot-a bit juvenile. The author's every (16 year old's) dreamy, romantic detail was here...weddings, a man taking woman on shopping trips, out to eat, flower deliveries, a Whitney Houston performance, etc.

The book was just o.k. it wasn't bad but not great - there are A LOT more books I'd recommend before this.

But getting her to trust again means finding a way to heal old wounds and convincing her, with all his heart, that she will always be eternally his.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I'm not sure. It was a nice, predictable story about friends who become attracted to one another. I got this on sale for less than $5 - however, after listening I'm not interested in purchasing the rest of the series.

What didn’t you like about Pete Ohms’s performance?

He was SO SLOW. I was able to get through ONLY because I listened at double speed (2X).

Nice, innocent romance book. Nothing over the top or descriptive... NOTE: I do NOT recommend purchasing this book UNLESS your audio device has the ability to play at 1.5 or 2X speed. You will go mad listening at regular speed.

What did you love best about Kissing in the Dark?

I like that this is set in post Civil War American. I've read a lot of historical romances but they are usually set in [today's] Europe.

A woman with a hidden past. To protect her, he must risk everything…his badge…his heart.

Desperate circumstances set Faith Wilkins on the run and straight into Sheriff Duke Grayson’s protective arms. Duke believes Faith is a struggling widow, intelligent healer, and loving mother. Their blooming friendship and explosive attraction reinforce Duke’s decision to marry Faith.

But when he discovers that his beautiful new bride lied about her identity and is hiding from a man with the power to destroy their family, her betrayal slices to his core. He built his life and career on a foundation of fierce integrity, and his marriage to Faith is based on trust and a love deeper than any he has ever known.

As Duke uncovers her secrets and former life, the truth about his wife rocks their new marriage. Can he forgive Faith and put everything on the line—his badge, his family, his heart—to save their marriage and protect the woman he loves?

What other book might you compare Kissing in the Dark to and why?

There are none that I've come across yet. However, some other historical writers I like are Jennifer Ashley & Hannah Howell.

She was fine, not great, not bad.
