"Another Great one in the series!"
Did not read the print version.
It was actually quite humorous - from the beginning premise...going to a hanging to buy a husband!
I enjoyed her performance...it was good and her characters were well performed and defined.
It was a really good story along with the hot, sexually erotica.
What has happened to Sarah McCarthy - I cannot find any current information about her writing. I'm desperate for the rest of the series to be released on audio!
"Don't Usually Go 4 Historical Romance, But...."
Intriguing, suspenseful & passionate
It is SO unique in its premise and character execution I cannot think of any other to compare it to. Perhaps others in this series (which I will be getting!)
Sure, but 5 Stars would have been easily earned if there was a stronger accent!
No [I don't react strongly to much], however it was very well written and there were a few instances when I found myself chuckling a bit.
It is very rare that I can stand to listen to 'historical' romances. I took a chance on this one as it was on sale for $4.95 and am so glad I did; I believe it IS 'credit' worthy and I plan to get the rest!
NOTE: Some sexual content
"Story Been There Done That-Good PartsCame Too Late"
It was o.k. My bar is set pretty high, I probably will not listen again.
No, not at all....I love this genre, it just took too long for characters to act on their attraction. The 'rich boss-starving secretary' has been done many times-there was not anything that made this one unique or stand out.
I love narrators and many times they make a book in genres I'm not particularly interested in (Historical Romance example McCabe Highland Series) draw me in.This narrator was very limited in her execution...subtle differences made for similar voices for all characters.
Nope
Got this on a $4.95 sale...I'm interested enough to following the rest of the series but only if I can get them at the $4.95 or better price. NOT creditworthy in my opinion.
NOTE: Adult themes-graphic romance scenes
"Fantastic!Samantha Young is My New Favorite Author"
It is near the top of over 100+ books I've downloaded from Audible. There is a great, realistic storyline with fabulous sexual tension (and scenes) throughout.
On Dublin Street-it is the beginning book of the series. While each of these can stand alone, it is fun to see friends from Dublin Street show up in this book & vice versa. I cannot wait for the next book!
I LOVE the accents! Her portrayal of male characters (especially Cameron MacCabe) is especially noteworthy as I would imagine it would be more of a challenge for a female narrator.
The aftermath of Johanna's meeting with her father. The intensity between ALL of the characters involved had me on edge.
I assume there will be at least one more book with this cast, hopefully MANY more. Write, Samantha, write! ;)
NOTE: Strong language and sexual content-not for the faint of heart.
"Hot, Sexy Intimate Ride-Great Start To New Series"
The fantastic sex was fabulous however the back story was heart-pulling as well.
I've recently listened to 'Fever' and would say it compares
Yes, although Lucy Rivers portrayal of the men was lacking.
Yes, yes, yes.
As always: Strong language and sexual situations...not a light romance.
"Modern Day Fairytail-with Lots of Sex!"
Hot, Sexy & fantastic
The introduction and execution of the first main scene....WOW!
Sure, though Adam Paul could be a bit more animated and make each characters voice a bit different.
Looking forward to the third in this trilogy.
NOTE: Strong language & sexual scenes
"Enjoyable-Hot & Sexy-Nothing Really Deep"
Yes, it is a hot, sexy read.
It isn't more than it claims to be. This is not a deep, challenging listen. The characters are not complex...if you are looking for a superficial read that is mostly about sex-this is it.
He was a bit stoic. There wasn't a lot of feeling behind his character portrayal.
The scene in Paris...it was troubling & shows a realistic depiction of a poor choice by the dominant character getting out of control. Too often in these type of stories it seems there are no errors on the part of the strong male characters.
This scene shows the consequences and fall out (the female is unrealistically forgiving-in my opinion) that continues in the aftermath.
NOTE: Strong language and explicit sex
"Love Maya Banks But 3 Brothers Sharing a Wife-Ewww"
This was a bit 'out there' as far as plot (in my opinion)-the whole sharing aspect-it is fiction. However the plot of the back/other story was suspenseful and held my interest.
The action of Holly trying to escape her abusive husband and the protectiveness of the Colter men.
Without giving away the ending-the search for Holly after her kidnapping.
No, the ends were all 'tied up' and no questions left unanswered.
Adult themes
"Not Much of a Story & Repetitive Scenes"
There was not much substance-no idea who may enjoy it.
Nope, it just did not hold my interest. It was not a 'page turner' & with 4 hours left I just kept checking on how much time was left.
She did a great job with all the characters
It seems there was only one sequence for the bedroom scenes.
I really liked 'Obsession' as it was a more suspenseful book. I may read 'Control' as the description sounds interesting.
NOTE: Sexual situations
"Great, twisting plot"
Suspense, mystery, romance
This is consistent Sandra Brown...although this was a bit more involved and suspenseful than others by her. I really liked it.
She was an adequate narrator...I enjoyed her portrayal of John the best-maybe because I liked his character the most.
Yes, the suspense kept it 'a page turner'
A bit gory in places, some strong language and adult situations.
"Excellent Series-Please Write & Record More Books!"
The story was great. The knowledge of Celia as a rancher supporting Kyle as he learns.
While the opening might be a bit shaky for some (drunk & hitched in Vegas) I found it a fun beginning and it only got better from there.
Any of the others in the series.
Scarlet Chase is a great narrator - she gave each character his/her own voice & personality.
Oh yes and I'll be re-listening to this series soon and over and over.
Fantastic series!
NOTE: Adult themes and strong language
