"Rather Disappointing"
I would not be opposed to the narrator, but will not likely try another Atwood book.
This book may have been more enjoyable if the author had not included so many graphically pornographic elements to the story. I think the message could have been effectively conveyed with more subtlety.
Disappointment
The first Margaret Atwood book I have read and was surprised at the images born within the imagination of a person that I had admired in the public arena. I won't be reading another Atwood work in the near future.
"Sensational"
Suspenseful; Interesting; Emotional.
The best narration that I have yet heard. Craig Wasson's performance truly made the story come alive. He gave the characters a personality and a depth that was nearly three dimensional. The story was brilliantly written and held my captive attention throughout.
"An eye opener"
A good and interesting listen. Provoked thought, stimulated suspicion and often left you jaw-dropped.
"An interesting topic"
An interesting read although the narrator is a bit difficult to listen to. At first his idiosyncratic voice inflections are minimally noticalbe but after a few hours of this it becomes distracting.
"A must read for any country music fan"
Whether you are a fan of Johnny Cash or of country music in general you will thoroughly enjoy this well read, easy to listen to biography. If you are not a Johnny Cash fan I think the chances are pretty good that you will become one after listening to this biography.
"An excellent historical biography"
A compelling story of one of the heros of the German people during an incredibly dark season in their history and the history of the world. Very well read by Malcolm Hillgartner. He made the story and the charactiers come to life as he painted a vivid picture through his interpretation and expression. A highly recommended read - or listen!
"House Rules"
An interesting story but told, I think, in far too many words. Character developement is important but after reading House Rules I feel I know the main character so well that I can tell when he has fluff in his belly-button! Just a bit too much. Finishing the book I was glad to have been told the story but sorry that it took an unnecessary amount of time to do so.
