This book is fun and hilarious to listen to. Terry Pratchett writes a hysterical book about one of the most mundane subjects: the post office. Stephen Briggs does a fabulous job reading this book and captures the characters personalities quite well. I find myself sitting in my car once I have reached my destination just to listen to a "little bit" more. If you want to listen to a great book that is fun and interesting this is the book for you!
I have been a big fan of Scott Brick (the narrator of this book) because I enjoyed all of the Shannara books he has narrated. But, I recently realized that even though someone is good at narrating in one genre, does not mean they will be good in others. There are many parts of the book where there should be a hint of excitement and/or nervousness which does not translate well with Scott Brick’s laid back, calm somewhat blas? style of narration. Everyone sounds the same from the military personnel to the average Joe off the street. There is no emotional change between characters which leaves one with a sense that everyone in the book is void of personality. I find the book very boring not because of the content, but more because of the person reading it. I have not finished the books as of yet, but I am almost tempted to buy it in hard copy and read it instead of wasting any more time listening.
