"Love this series!"
This book didn't get 4 stars from me as I found it a tad depressing. It is funny and interesting and I love the characters but I could have done with a little less childhood angst and mistreatment. I enjoy the glimpse into life in England. One of my very favorite characters is Juliet, the demon, but I missed her voice in this book. The previous narrator gave her a deep, throaty voice that made everything she said really funny. Even when she said "Whhhaaat?" I could envision this beautiful, extremely dangerous demon without a clue about human thought, trying very hard to understand. I missed that with this narrator but everyone else sounded like they should. Overall, it is a fun series and very entertaining.
"Blah"
No
Maybe. Probably not
It was the book that was bad
Why did I listen to the whole thing?
Don't waste your time
"Best book ever!"
I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this is one of the very best. It's spiritual, funny, intelligent and entertaining. As most animal books, it has a few tear-jerker incidents but the ending makes up for any angst. Love, love, LOVE it!
"Love this series!"
I started with this series because Anna Fields, just the best narrator in the world, narrated it. Then I was hooked and have enjoyed each book and the narrator. This last one is wonderful, full of suspense and totally engrosing. If you are looking for an engaging series with a tough & funny heroine this is it! Very well done, author & narrators!
"I love Jack Reacher!"
I love Jack Reacher, Lee Child for creating him and Dick Hill for portraying him so well! Thank you all!
"Wonderful, as usual"
I can't imagine anyone else reading the In Death books. Susan Ericksen is great, in my opinion and, after what seems like tons of books in the series she IS the voice of Dallas, Roarke, Peabody (my favorite), the commander and everyone else. The stories are so entertaining and fun to listen to, I wish J.D. Robb could write more of them. When she writes as Nora Roberts, the books don't send me but this series is one of my very favorites.
"I love this book!"
Keri Arthur fills this story with the COOLEST supernatural beings and the dialog made me feel like I was really in the world they live in. The narrator has an Australian accent which is perfect as the story takes place there. Its a mystery, a romance and a fantasy with rich characters and an entertaining plot. There's some steamy scenes but not so many it detracts from the story. The heroine is a werewolf so it would be pretty "Twilight-ty" (bland) if there wasn't some sex! I would highly recommend this book and feel it was well worth the money and time.
"A Dangerous Mourning"
This is the first book in the William Monk series to which I have listened and I absolutely loved it. I intend to listen to as many of the series as I can. I enjoy Davina Porter's wonderful reading and accent which are perfect for this engaging Victorian novel. I am already involved with Nurse Latterly, Monk and the dashing lawyer, Oliver Rathbone and can't wait to meet them again.
"Could do without the accents"
I love Christine Feehan's books and she is definitely the queen of writing sex scenes. This book was very good but the accents of the readers were strangely disturbing. Also, I feel there was a bit too much of the Carpathian language in the reading. A little is OK but with the odd accents used by the readers it was distracting & irritating.
"Love the narrator!"
Skull Session is one of my very favorite books and after listening to Conspiracy I think it is largely due to Christopher Lane. I love his voice and his reading of Conspiracy makes it seem more sinister and dark than the usual narrator who lends a comical tone to the Deep Black series. I totally enjoyed the three times I listened to this book, getting more out of each "listen". I hope they keep Christopher Lane as the narrator and I am definitely going to listen to everything he narrates.
