On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

The Master Key System, along with The Science of Getting Rich, is the source of Rhonda Byrne’s inspiration for the book and film The Secret.Originally published in 1912 as a correspondence course, it teaches that everything around us was first developed as a thought. That means that thought is the powerful catalyst for turning any idea into a reality. The Master Key System will show you how to use the power of these thoughts to realize your dreams.

Your subconscious mind is powerful and will work for you without effort. It also works against you based on programs and concepts learned in childhood. Learn how to reprogram your mind to override these immature programs.

If you could sum up The Genie Within: Your Subconscious Mind - How It Works and How to Use It in three words, what would they be?

    Powerfully empowering!!!

Have you listened to any of Matt Stone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. But his performance here was fantastic. He's passionate, keeping my attention.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    Simply profound.

    Any additional comments?

I can't begin to emphasize how profound the information in this book is!!! I haven't even started on the exercises but the realization alone of the power of them is overwhelming. I feel empowered and ridiculously grateful! Thank you Harry for sharing!!! And Matt was a captivating narrator, good choice.

  • Outliers: The Story of Success

In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

    What disappointed you about Outliers?

the narration was horrible, which sux cuz the author narrated. found him to be very dull and hard to listen to.

What other book might you compare Outliers to and why?

7 Habits of Highly Effective People because they are both great books/stories narrated by the author who is painfully dull to listen to. (although i suck it up with the former because i want the absorption of repeated exposure) The Outliers, i think i got the message(10 000 hours to become good at something) and do not desire any further exposure to the audiobook. should i want the message again in the future, i will buy the actual book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

    see above

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    see above

    Any additional comments?

there were a number of times in the book that i wondered what he was talking about and what it had to do with Outliers. took quite awhile to get to the point, to the point of losing me (my interest). by the end i was just counting the minutes til it was done and ended up finishing a few minutes early. Ouch! I'm sorry Malcolm, but might've been better with another narrator.
