Couldn't get past the first few chapters. Too much like a soap opera and the reader just didn't do it for me.

Marion and Shiva Stone are twin brothers born of a secret union between a beautiful Indian nun and a brash British surgeon at a mission hospital in Addis Ababa. Orphaned by their mother's death in childbirth and their father's disappearance, bound together by a preternatural connection and a shared fascination with medicine, the twins come of age as Ethiopia hovers on the brink of revolution. Yet it will be love, not politics - their passion for the same woman - that will tear them apart.

    Story

I am not a huge reader so to speak, but a audio book listener. I commute to work so a good story along with an entertaining narrator makes the drive seem short and sometimes even cause me to drive around the block a few extra times. This story had me laughing, crying, cringing and feeling hope for humanity. Cutting for Stone is definitely one I will keep in my library for relistening.

To most people, Fiona Bristow seems to have an idyllic life — a quaint house on an island off Seattle’s coast, a thriving dog-training school, and a challenging volunteer job performing canine search and rescue. Not to mention her three intensely loyal Labs. But Fiona got to this point by surviving a nightmare.

A User says: "Not very exciting"
"Fun story but at times a bit drawn out"
    Overall

Two things, 1.should of had a man narrate for the male characters and 2. story dragged on not knowing whether to be a mystery or a sappy romance novel.

Into this exotically grim environment arrives a white-haired young woman from the coast named Isa Fly. Isa is a mysterious and magnetic presence who exerts a romantic pull on everyone she meets. The dialect and colloquialisms of its cast of characters made it hard for me to follow.
