"First Gaiman Novel"
I absolutely loved this story...It was slow to draw me in, but once I was caught up in the story I could not get enough...This was my first Gaiman novel and it did not disappoint... The story takes you into the London underground that parallels London above...I found the storyline to be addicting...I liked the characters and development...I will be moving on to the Anansi Boys after this one...
"Way too much hype"
I thought the story was decent, but was very, very overrated...I don't think it's the worst story, but it's definitely not on my list of good ones...I will be skipping the sequel because I struggled to finish this one...I just found the story to be long and drawn out...It was a nice ending, but I didn't really care how it ended because I really didn't like any characters...In my opinion, the gratuitous rape and sadism was a bit overdone and really detracted my interest from the story...
"Good once it got going"
I liked the book once it got going, but for me it took three hours to spark an interest...Even then my interest wained again until about 5 hours into the book...Altered Carbon was much better than this story in my opinion...I will be ending the series at this book...It just shouldn't take that long to get into a book...
"Stop at Speaker"
Please....For your own sake stop at Speaker for the Dead...I loved Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead, but this one just dragged on...All I wanted to do was finish the series, but this will be the last one I listen to...The story line is entertaining, but just okay...It's just not at the same caliber as the first two novels...
"Good story"
I liked the story, but it took about half the audiobook to get interesting...If you can make it half way you'll enjoy the story...This is a story of survival and wit...To add an element of suspense, it would have been nice if the story teller was left unnamed so that you did not know if Pi survived the ordeal....
"Great Listen"
Step one: listen...Step two: make it practical and put it to work...Step three: Let your light shine...This is probably one of the most inspirational books I have read and listened to...While some things are not applicable, I thoroughly enjoyed this book...Be true to yourself and make life your own adventure...
"Great story until last hour"
I loved the story, but the last hour was boring...It was a great up to the so-so ending, which is why I gave four stars...It's a real life ending...
"Annoying narration"
I could not get in the book because of the narrator...It just annoyed the heck out of me...Good book...Read the hardback...
"Excellent non-fiction"
I actually listened to half the book before I realized that it was non-fiction...While this might not be the thrill ride, surprise ending novel, I was thoroughly caught up in the book...To know that the injustice and travesty that can occur due to the malfeasance of lawyers, courtroom officials, and police is astounding...I thought this book was great and definitely would recommend...
"Not a fan"
I personally don't know how revised this edition is, but I only tried this title because of all the original rave reviews...Real estate agents and Ku Klux Clan are similar because they hoard information...Sumo wrestlers cheat....Who cares...It did not hold my interest and I cut this one short before I wasted 4 more hours of my life...
