  • Star Wars (Dramatized)

    Story
    (683)

This landmark production, perhaps the most ambitious radio project ever attempted, began when Star Wars creator George Lucas donated the story rights to an NPR affiliate. Writer Brian Daley adapted the film's highly visual script to the special demands and unique possibilities of radio, creating a more richly textured tale with greater emphasis on character development.

    Matthew says: "Beyond the film..."
    "Same as Empire Strikes Back"
    Overall

The story in and of its self is well done. What isnt done well is the repetitive re-announcing and ending of where this was done. You could easily cut 35 min of this Star Wars dramatization by taking out the NPR announcements and chapter endings and Star Wars theme music at every start and end of every chapter...

  • The End of Reason: A Response to the New Atheists

In The End of Reason, Zacharias underscores the dependability of the Bible along with his belief in the power and goodness of God. He confidently refutes Harris's claims that God is nothing more than a figment of one's imagination and that Christians regularly practice intolerance and hatred around the globe.

Would you listen to The End of Reason again? Why?

The End of Reason is a very effective rebuttal to the hypocritical and tyrannical stances of those who rabidly spew verbal waste in their quest of reviling a God that they don't want to exist. They can inflict no harm to God himself so they seek dictatorial and tyrannical methods akin to Pol Pot, Hitler, and Stalin on those who believe to attempt to quite them and those who correctly refuse to accept their empty, false and delusional stance. Ravi Zacharias brings reason while the opposition regardless of the soundness of his rebuttal, will refuse sound thinking and reason.

  • The Edge of Evolution: The Search for the Limits of Darwinism

In a tour de force of science and logic, the best-selling author of Darwin's Black Box combines genetics, laboratory results, and mathematics to prove, once and for all, that the universe and life on Earth are designed.

Thomas Phelan says: "Listen to it, not to comments about it!"
    "Thought provoking"
    Overall

I don't think the debate of evolution is over and Michael Behe keeps the rational of thought and reason in check. I find the more and more I know the less and less evolution is viable. It becomes an ever increasing decent into intellectual suicide to support evolution as Darwin presents it. Michael Behe presents clear and thought provoking insights that for me, further push me away from Darwinism and its absurdities.

Hear the Bible come alive! This arresting world-class audio production immerses listeners in the dramatic reality of the Scriptures as never before. The Word of Promise New Testament Audio Bible is a 20-hour, star-studded audio Bible production.

Over all this is nice to listen too, sometimes the music doesn't go well with the reader and the reader isn't quite that interesting but the whole brings out the bible well and does make for a nice listen while working or traveling.

A plan to destroy America, a hundred years in the making, is about to be unleashed. There is a powerful technique called the Overton Window that can shape our lives, our laws, and our future. It works by manipulating public perception so that ideas previously thought of as radical begin to seem acceptable over time. Move the Window and you change the debate. Change the debate and you change the country.

Ray says: "It Could Happen Soon"
    "Entertaining"

Well done and entertaining.. Just remember like he states at the beginning its a fictional story with fictional characters..

Like its predecessor, this electrifying drama boasts an outstanding cast (including Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Anthony Daniels as See Threepio, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, and John Lithgow as Yoda); a greatly expanded script, with many scenes not found in the movie; and audio engineering of unparalleled excellence. The Empire Strikes Back takes you once more into a galaxy of pure sound and limitless imagination for an adventure you'll never forget.

  • Godless: The Church of Liberalism

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 54 mins)

    Overall
    (375)
    Performance
    (67)
    Story
    (69)

Godless is the most explosive book yet from #1 New York Times best-selling author Ann Coulter. In this completely original and thoroughly controversial work, Coulter writes, "Liberals love to boast that they are not 'religious', which is what one would expect to hear from the state-sanctioned religion. Of course liberalism is a religion.

Kenneth says: "Somebodies ears are burning"
    "All out frankness"
    Overall

Ann Coulter has no gloves on and is all out brutally honest and frank in her non politically correct approach. The audible edition further sharpens the intellectual onslaught on liberalism. This is for people who have nerves of steel because if your offended by the truth or intellectual acumen then prepare yourself, Ann Coulter's Godless is merciless in pointing out the hypocrisy and illogical stances of liberalism.

  • Somebody's Gotta Say It

With its outrageous brand of conservative talk, The Neal Boortz Show has been one of talk radio's hottest commodities for more than 25 years. Boortz entertains his rabid followers with commentary on everything from corruption in Washington to the troops overseas. Now, with Somebody's Gotta Say It, Neal gives us his greatest jeremiad yet: a hilarious but serious-as-taxes screed covering all the issues that get Neal and his millions of listeners hot under the collar on a daily basis.

Eric says: "He got it right"
    "Honest and exceptable"
    Overall

I enjoy Neal Boortz and find him further sharping observations and opinions I have in common with him but there are some differences that I do have with him that lower this from a 4 to a 3. I do recommend this but with some caveats.

There would have been no KISS without Gene Simmons, the outrageous star whose superlong tongue, legendary sexual exploits, and demonic makeup have made him a rock icon. KISS and Make-Up is the wild, shocking, unbelievable story, from the man himself, about how an immigrant boy from Israel studied to be a rabbi, was saved by rock and roll, and became one of the most notorious rock stars the world has ever seen.

    Karen says: "Loved it"
"This needs to be in your library"
    Overall

Gene Simmons's open, frank and honest work here is excellent and deepened my respect for him as a person. Regardless of your like or dislike of Kiss or Gene Simmons he solidly demonstrates fundamental principles about commitment, perseverance, integrity, and respect. I do think that there is corporate and educational edition that could be done by taking out some of the profanity and sexual content. There is not a lot of it but it will offend the thin skinned who would be more fixated on those facets instead of the very solid life principles Gene does solidly present. The audio book read by Gene himself will keep you listening to the very end. You want the best you got it from Gene Simmons.

Bradbury 13 is a collection of radio dramas masterfully adapted from classic short stories by veteran science-fiction author Ray Bradbury. Bradbury's stories refract our own fears and foibles through otherworldly prisms.

Joel D Offenberg says: "Good story mix, well-produced."
    "Imagination playland"
    Overall

Ray Bradbury has a mesmerizing way of storytelling this dramatization captures the story's essence brilliantly.
