Is there really such thing as a lucky charm? The hero of Nicholas Sparks's new novel believes he's found one in the form of a photograph of a smiling woman he's never met, but who he comes to believe holds the key to his destiny. The chain of events that leads to him possessing the photograph and finding the woman pictured in it is the stuff of love stories only a master such as Sparks can write.

What disappointed you about The Lucky One?

I thought the story was very weak, simple and predictable. I wasn't engaged with the characters at any point of the book, I felt as if the story was very shallow and that Nicholas Sparks and any five year old could come up with the same story. I believe this is a best seller only because of Nicholas Sparks other hits.

Has The Lucky One turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

Would you be willing to try another one of John Bedford Lloyd’s performances?

Maybe, but this performance was terrible, I thought the female voices wouldn't matter but it definitely did.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Lucky One?

None, I would have added more

    Any additional comments?

I hope the movie is better

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Where does Fifty Shades of Grey rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the best of the best! and I have listened to in about a year about 25 books, from Harry Potter to the Kite Runner! Let me tell you something, if you want to feel smart or are planning to analyze the writing, then don't read it or listen to it, but if you are all about relaxing and getting lost in a book as you would once in a while with a movie, then do it. Yes, it has it's soap opera moments, but sometimes they are needed.

What did you like best about this story?

    I have never read

What about Becca Battoe’s performance did you like?

I thought she did a very good job. Reading this book, must have been very hard, to make people understand when she was thinking to herself or actually speaking, but 97% of the times you could make it out (it's an audiobook for god's sake! for those who complain!)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes! I laughed and almost crashed my car twice!

    Any additional comments?

Absolutely recommended to anyone looking forward to get lost in a entertaining story.

But after only one day together, they cannot stop thinking about one another. As the years go by, Dex and Em begin to lead separate lives. And yet, unable to let go of that special something that grabbed onto them that first night, an extraordinary relationship develops between the two.

Would you consider the audio edition of One Day to be better than the print version?

    I only listened to it.

What did you like best about this story?

It is a very romantic story.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I think that I really never related the person that narrated the story to the book. Her voice even though it is sweet, it is shaky and monotonous.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

SPOILER ALERT: towards the end when they were finally closer, it really killed me!

    Any additional comments?

At the beginning of the book it was hard to connect with the story for me, I wasn't very engaged to it and even got a little distracted; but overall I would recommend it, because it is a beautiful story and has a great message.
