"The best in a long time."
This was without a doubt one of the, if not, the best book I have ever listened to. The reader was great, the story was even better. King's attention to detail, and his character developement were fantastic. I actually applauded at the end. (Although I was sad to see it end.) Fantastic!!
"very entertaining"
If you want to learn a little about dogs and listen to a good mystery, this is for you. I couldn't put it down. I just wish it was a little longer. I didn't want to see it end.
"Baldacci is without a doubt one of the best!"
Best "read" of the year. Baldacci changes it up a bit and brings us a new type of hero. The male reader is great. The female reader is good but not great. Her accents leave a lot to be desired.
"Just great"
Not much to say about this book. One of the best ever! A must read for everybody!
"Too many twists."
First of all let me mention Scot Brick. He is a great reader if the book moves on itself. However if the book is slow, he becomes unbearable. I actually played the book at double speed to move it along. Brick is overly dramatic even when not necessary. The book itself is weak. It seems like the author believes that the more twists he puts in the book the better it is. Wrong! I felt it was like a high school student writing his fist book. Just silly at times. Really weak.
"Just Horrible"
I read, or listen to books to be entertained. Grisham's books usually do that. There is nothing worse however when an established fiction writer tries to disguise his political views as a fiction story. There is no story here and there is nothing new presented for the anti capital punishment agenda. If I wanted to read a one sided discussion on the merits of capital punishment I would have purchased any of a thousand books on the subject. And there is another side to his agenda. But I didn't purchase this book to be preached at. Boy was I had.
"Loved it and learned alot."
I must admit that I was put off by the negative reviews I read. I listened to it anyway and loved it. With good characters that I cared about it is a very easy read. What I was amazed at was how little I learned in school about WW1. I think you could easily teach a course based on this book. I went to the internet constantly to learn more about incidents that were mentioned in the book. I could not put it down.
"Don't get it."
One of the very few books that I quit on. After 3 hours I had no idea where this was going. Boring!!!
"Only 5 months until the next Reacher novel."
As always when I finish a Reacher novel, I can't wait for the next one. With "61 Hours" this was even more true. I loved the book, I couldn't put it down. When it ended, I wanted more. I went back and listened to the end a few more times to try figure out what is coming next. I then went to a bookstore to re-read the ending. There was a page in the book, that was not on the audio. It said "Want to know what Happens Next? Look for Lee Child's next new thriller coming 10-19-2010. I feel much better now!!
"My first King Book"
I must admit that the only reason I chose this book is that after listening to 50 books this year, there were few new books that interested me. I was more than surprised. King is possibly the best author I have read. I am not a science fiction reader but I will admit that I loved this book. Great story, the reader was terrific and for a long book, the story moved well. King has a way with words and his character development was incredible. One of the 5 best I read this year.
