"A very long story of absolutely nothing"
Almost nothing at all happens in this book for very long times. It really looks like Weber has been deliberately stretching out the sentences and scenes only to make the book longer. Most of the very, very, elaborate descriptions of scenes and ponderings add almost nothing to the story as a whole.
I was slightly put off by the fact that this book was 2 credits instead of the regular one credit but decided to get it anyway because I previously enjoyed the authors work very much. I regret to have to write that this book wasn't worth the 2 credits I payed by a long shot.
"Typical book for the author"
I have listened to all of the available "Revelation Space" books by this author and didn't hesitate to get this one for a moment. I was not disappointed.
I very much enjoyed this book, the universe it describes is well though through and it's a welcome change from anything else I have read in a long while. The story takes a little getting used to but once you grasp the time scales involved it's not al all complicated to follow. If there is a sequel to this book I would buy it without a moments hesitation.
"Pretty good"
A good story, although it isn't finished by a long shot. The narrator however, is truly excellent!
Although it's in the sci-fi section, it's more a medieval-themed story. A hybrid genre, so to speak.
