When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

What would have made Fifty Shades of Grey better?

If it wasn't so predictable, wasn't so badly written, wasn't such a ridiculous story. If the characters weren't so dull, if there was a plot, if the ending was more than just the end of another lousy sentence and IF there was more to it than a wealthy basket case with mommy issues meets miss seriously dull goodie two shoes and indulge in awkward sex... then maybe it would qualify for as a Penthouse Letters submission.

Actually, if it had come with illustrations... maybe it could have verged on entertaining.

What could E. L. James have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Held the repetition to maybe three or four repeats of the same quips, same predictable descriptions of emotion, physical sensation and absurd fascinations. One of the main characters (Ana Steel) is amazed by stuff that would put high school kids to sleep.

What three words best describe Becca Battoe’s performance?

    mediocre, average, apathetic

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment and very curios as to what's happened to the world where a book like this actually goes main stream.

    Any additional comments?

Yea... E.L. James, give up your day job !, oh, and you owe me a credit on Audible !
