What did you love best about Fighting for You?

If you've read the other books in th series you'll be very familiar with this story. All the stories int he series are pretty much the same, only the characters change. This one is like the others, and covers the relationship of Ella and Declan. It was a sweet story and overall I would say well written that has a sweet, make you smile kind of ending.

My only real complaint would be with the narration. It wasn't really as much her voice as the way she read certain parts of the story.

As with all the other stories in this series there was a lot of talking to themselves. However the way the narrator read it, you cringe.

It makes me think back to that Brady Bunch movie where Jan Brady would talk to herself in that crazy I'm talking to the voice in my head voice. And it happens that way a lot in the book ... every time a character speaks to themself.

Veterinary intern Emily can't believe she wound up in the small town of Sunshine, Idaho, instead of in a Los Angeles clinic like she had always imagined. Now she has to put her plans to move to L.A. on hold for a whole year while she fulfills the obligation of her vet school scholarship. Then Wyatt, her gorgeous one-night stand from a Reno vet conference, introduces himself as her new boss. And Emily is just as drawn to his seductive looks and quiet strength as she was on that very steamy night.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Jill Shalvis really shined in this one. Usually as a series goes along things start to go downhill but I really think this is the exception to the rule. Great story. Really well done.

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

As always she was great. Flawless performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It's hard to say without giving away important parts of the book and nobody likes spoilers but I will say yes, I was surprised when she left. I expected her to stay.

Playing house was never so much fun - or so confusing. With her boss on an extended honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy-long hours to keep the interior design company running - especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel. And with Simon, her hotshot photographer boyfriend, gallivanting all over the world for his job, the couple is heavy-duty into "absence makes the heart grow fonder" mode. No complaints about the great reunion sex, though!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The book started off as a confusing mess. You couldn't help but get the sense that the publisher demanded a sequel and the author went through several periods of not knowing what to say to continue the first story along and in the end, you got a horrible start.

Things did eventually get better but half-way through you couldn't help but feel sorry for the person and their horrible relationship. The saddest part was, she didn't seem to know her relationship was built totally around sex. He didn't seem to care about her needs, her problems or sharing any part of his life and even if she worked a 100 hours that week, hey as long as he got him some, who cares, right?

What was most disappointing about Alice Clayton’s story?

The most disappointing part is really that the author didn't seem to get how completely unhealthy this relationship really is. This isn't love. This isn't romantic. This is just sad. Sex does not a relationship make. Even if it's great sex. And just because you have sex 5 times a week, doesn't make it great sex. If you worked so much that week your eyes are about to bleed, going home to have to make your man happy by giving him a bj isn't right. That's not romantic. That's just serving your man to make HIM happy. I don't know. This whole story just rubbed me the wrong way.

Was Rusty Nailed worth the listening time?

Eh. Not really. I mean if you can get the book at a great discount, sure. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't suggest paying full price for this one.

Would you try another book from Susan Hatler and/or Martha Lee?

Yes, but next time I might look at the length beforehand. There is a difference between a well written short story, and a story cut short. This was most definitely the latter.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Uhh that's it? Where's the rest of the story? This was ore like the start of a good book that cut off a few chapters in.

Did My Last Blind Date inspire you to do anything?

It made me wonder how in the world this book got published. Not that it wasn't a great start but it was far from a full story. It left you sitting there confused how it could end so quick. It was more like a preview of an upcoming full novel.

I wouldn't. The performance wasn't bad but I just couldn't get into the story.

Would you ever listen to anything by Susan Mallery again?

Yes. She wasn't bad at all.

Have you listened to any of Tanya Eby’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Bored. I hate to be so mean but to be honest the story just bored me to death. It just didn't have that heated passion or any OMG moments that tend to make you fall in love with a good romance book.

I'm not normally into stories about vampires and ghosts and goblins but I found this story rather cute. It was short and could have been greatly improved by adding more background and length to the book but overall it wasn't bad.

    Probably. This book wasn't bad.

What made the experience of listening to The One the most enjoyable?

This is one of those swoon worthy stories that you find yourself wanting to shout at the characters sometimes, and smile all at the same time. There are so many emotional ups and downs in this story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. I couldn't in a million years turn it off. I had to rush to the end.

    Any additional comments?

This is a series you will want to read. If you liked Twilight or the Hunger Games then The Selection series is a must read. The One, the last book in the series really wraps it up well.

This may be your typical love story where the strong, damaged guy meets the sweet girl next door from some random small town, but you know what? I don't care. I loved it. The story was sweet and endearing and Brady might quite possibly be the sexiest man alive. He's the strong silent type. He's the kind of guy who can fix anything and make you feel safe and loved. This is the kind of story that makes you love a good love story. It might not have been the best love story ever written, but it was sweet and in the end you are left with a smile on your face. So is that really a bad thing?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes absolutely. Even though you knew what was coming and how it was all going to end, it was still well written enough that you wanted to stay with it until the very end.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

When you first get to know the character of Jade from the previous book in the series, you get the feeling that she's a strong, take no shit kind of girl. Her character draws you in and makes you want to get to know more about her. It makes you root for her love with Dale and then when you get to finally finding out about her big secret it's a big time let down. It's like ... wait what? Nobody died. Nobody got raped. Nobody got really anything. It was a very big let down and it made me really re-evaluate Jade all the way from the very beginning and it really made me lose so much respect for her. She didn't face anything major like you first thought.

So when I lost respect for the main character of the story, and you seen she was just this spoiled brat, it just made it really hard to keep rooting for her and it ruined the story for me.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jill Shalvis? Why or why not?

I like Jill Shalvis as an author, so yes I will probably read a few more of her books.

Was Animal Magnetism Series # 2, Animal Attraction worth the listening time?

At first I would have said yes. The story of Jade and her big 'secret' draws you in. She was strong and self preserved and then you get the big fat let down and find out she isn't strong. She is just a spoiled little rich girl and well the story was ruined from there, at least for me.
She had no big trauma ... not a real one at least. Sucks was happened but trust me when I said, there are much much much worse things that happen every single day and people don't run off and hide for 18 months unable to get over it. I so seriously had to roll my eyes at this one.

What did you love best about Absolutely Unforgivable?

It's hard to answer a question like this without giving away spoilers so I guess I'll just say what I loved best is that it's nice to read a romance novel with a love triangle that doesn't lead to lies and cheating. I'm not someone who would ever do that myself so I like a character with some character.

What other book might you compare Absolutely Unforgivable to and why?

There are a few other rock and roll fantasy stories like Fall For Me, Effortless, but this one isn't really exactly like either of them just happens to also include a story with a sexy guy who is in a band.

Have you listened to any of T. L. Gray’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've never heard anything with TL Gray prior to this story but thought she did a good job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I cried like a baby towards the end of the book. I was really surprised at the turn the book took. Obviously like most romance readers I like my happy ending and thought for awhile there, I wasn't going to get it. I was however pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the twist the book took to take you to the very final ending.

    Any additional comments?

It was a sweet story about love and the struggle to do the right thing. I liked it.
