This man had a godsent power in his voice. Now,i was really moved by some of his speeches. Where did he take it all from? Truly one of the most powerful and influential speakers ever heard in rgds to human rights activism.

A young Norwegian girl taking a gap year in Sydney has been murdered, and Harry has been sent to Australia to assist in any way he can. He's not supposed to get too involved. When the team unearths a string of unsolved murders and disappearances, nothing will stop Harry from finding out the truth. Would you consider the audio edition of The Bat to be better than the print version?

Sorry to say i have not read the book. However, being quite busy, the audible version is my favorite anyway - in the car, on the train, the airport, even when biking:)

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Bat?

I really enjoy this book, it is so many things happening, so exciting, and i learned quite a few things about the aborigines and their history, nicely implemented in the story.

Harry approaching the redhead swedish girl in the bar and the encounter with Otto the transexual gives us an idea about gender and tolerance.

Have you listened to any of Sean Barrett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have been listening to Sean Barrett`s voice through many books, and find his work outstanding. He is really good at copying accents, amazing.

There have been many biographies of Stalin, but the court that surrounded him is untravelled ground. Simon Sebag Montefiore, acclaimed biographer of Catherine the Great's lover, prime minister, and general, Potemkin, has unearthed the vast underpinning that sustained Stalin. Not only ministers such as Molotov or secret service chiefs such as Beria, but men and women whose loyalty he trusted only until the next purge.

    Overall

This book made me think about what Reagan used to refer to as the evil empire.

A lesson in random lunacy put to work, based on excellent research. You wished this was fiction only.

An exciting wellwritten book keeping your attention all the way through.

Toru Okada is going through a difficult time. He is without a job, his cat has disappeared, and his wife is behaving strangely. Into this unbalanced world comes a variety of curious characters, a young girl sunbathing in a nearby garden; sisters who are very peculiar indeed; an old war veteran with a violent, disturbing story. Okada retreats to a deep well in a nearby house. And the story unfolds.

and a great narrator. He really does a good job. It is admiring how he manages to keep the characters voices from one another without mixing. Exciting spinoffs, like the "scenes" from the wwar2 in manchuria.
Mr. Wind-up Bird....yes, i will certainly read more from this author.

Michael was in a hurry. He was scrambling up the ladder at Drake & Sweeney, a giant D.C. firm with 800 lawyers. The money was good and getting better; a partnership was 3 years away. He was a rising star with no time to waste, no time to stop, no time to toss a few coins into the cups of panhandlers. No time for a conscience. But a violent encounter with a homeless man stopped him cold. Also available abridged.

But Charlotte soon learns, to her mounting dismay, that for the upper-crust coeds of Dupont, sex, Cool, and kegs trump academic achievement every time.

At the core of this book is an appalling double murder committed by two Mormon Fundamentalist brothers, Ron and Dan Lafferty, who insist they received a revelation from God commanding them to kill their blameless victims. Weaving the story of the Lafferty brothers and their fanatical brethren with a clear-eyed look at Mormonism's violent past, Krakauer examines the underbelly of the most successful homegrown faith in the United States, and finds a distinctly American brand of religious extremism.

Craig Hansen says: "Not bad, but a bit biased"
    "Religious fanatics...."
    Overall

Gives a good picture on how religion may turn individuals into monsters. Religious belief is a human right, but some people moves past the outer limit of acceptance. A good book telling us not to turn the other cheek, but try to do something to stop these crazy people before they ruin somebodys life.
Childmolesters living in a pedophilia heaven(godgiven right to polygamy and to marry children. Murder committed on direct orders from God. Hey, you dont have to go to the middle-east to see religious fanatics, take a look in your neighbourhood.....
