Great story wrapped in historical accuracy of the premiere of Girl of the Golden West. Very convincing portrayal of the singers, composer, director, conductor and general manager. The reader was entertaining for the most part except for his inability to pronounce the names of very important operas.
Historical picture of early days of Metropolitan Opera
No I've listened to it once. That's enough
Actually a good ending, the middle bogged down and it was hard to keep interested.
The scenes where Reacher is physical and intuitive.
Can't say. I've only listened to it
Good continuation of these characters. They've become part of our family in recent years and we can't wait to continue the saga.
I am a big fan of Michael Crichton. I love the way he makes his listener examine the real science of a subject that popular culture has ignored. This is not his best work but it is still an engaging story. What spoiled it for me was the bad preparation the narrator did before recording this book. The story is set in Hawaii and therefore full of Hawaiian names and places. The narrator mispronounced and over pronounced almost every Hawaiian word. Admittedly, I am a long time Hawaiian resident and use many of these words daily. However almost any tourist who has been to Hawaii knows that the main street through Waikiki is pronounce
same as above
??? Good voice and good characterizations. Needs better prep on location
