There weren't any surprises, but it was extremely funny.
I just finished this book and looked for others by the same author - none, bummer. I wondered if there would be a lot of foul language, but considering the cast of characters, it was minimal.
I stopped listening when the love story became graphic sex. I also found it disruptive (maybe more by listening than if I were reading it myself) that there were two stories, one from 1919 and one from present day. The narrative switched back and forth constantly.
This is the first book by Suzanne Brockmann that I've 'read' so I didn't understand it was big on sex scenes, and characters lusting for each other. I thought it was more action/humor with a bit of romance. I would prefer to have this in print so I could skip past the more explicit scenes and the seemingly endless dialogue (I've loved him/her since we were teenagers, etc.) I hate not finishing a book and I would like to find out the ending and there is some good humor, but I definitely won't do any more audible books by this author.
