I had no idea that this book was already in theaters. I can't imagine how it will be on the big screen, but as for the book, the writer and the reader, all I can say is that I could not put the book down. How courageous this book is! I cannot say that it answers the questions posed, but I very rarely have heard or read the questions asked. I read a lot, I totally recommend this book. Warning, it is heavy.

OMG. I walked into an Apple store the other day and saw it in a completely different way. Mind you, it is true, I love my iPOD, my MacBook and now my iPhone.

I never met Steve Jobs, but I did feel sad when he died. This book made me realize why. He had a grasp on design. He was also the kind of person that brought out the best in people. He was probably hard to live with.

Read it, you will enjoy it as well as appreciate all the thought and many hours that went into your "tools."

I was hesitant to listen to this book. I am not really into science and the workings of bodily functions. Cells have personally bored me.

However, I could not help but notice the very positive reviews surrounding this book. The subject matter did not seem so appealing.

I was wrong and am very glad to have listened to this book. Not only did I enjoy it and learn a lot ... my house is very clean. I stayed up late, listening as I cleaned. The book is totally engaging on many levels: culturally (not a pun ), personally, scientifically. It also brings great hope and an insight into how far we have grown as human beings.

I recommend The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, very glad that Rebecca Skloot had the persistence and courage to write it.

Well, thank you Patti Smith!!! I do think that we might have met way back then. Yes, this is a true love story and a true love story of the time. What a time that was! Thank you again for telling it. I will never forget that time. It did deeply impact those of us that moved to NYC (and actually did live in a loft.... without the benefit of a grocery store, pharmacy,or heat )

I enjoyed Ms. Fuller's first book as well. Tales of an era gone by. How we do forget!

I enjoyed this book and the tales of wandering around the US by rail. Nice, light and very enjoyable book.

All I can say is that I am from those white women. I grew up in Nebraska. I was surprised there was no mention of the rattle snakes. They were always all over the place. It is such a rugged territory. Back then, just as the book says, it was "uncivilized". No porta-potties." anywhere to be seen.

I am grateful to have spent my youth there. I am now 65 years old. This book did, indeed help me to know and understand , not only my own beginnings, but how the United States came to be. Not all of it swathed in honor.

This is a lovely little book and easy to listen to. I also learned a lot about Afganastan and the Taliban. The story is fairly predictable, but told in a way that was interesting and held my attention ... yes, even while driving on the Interstate. Perfect summer book.

OK, another "driveway" event. This book took many twists and turns. John Hart is one of those writers that can transport the experience of the story into the written word (or listen in this case). This was my first John Hart book, but I will now look for more. I totally enjoyed the book, in spite of the dubious theme.

I totally enjoyed this book. Haven't we all inherited some piece of furniture , or a book, or something that connects us with a very interesting past?

This book grabbed my attention from the very beginning. It is worth a good listen. I even sat down in my living room, after everybody else was in bed ... I enjoyed it.
