The first book of Day by Day Armageddon took us deep into the mind of a military officer and survivor as he made a New Year's resolution to start keeping a journal. The man kept his resolution and brought to us the fall of humanity, day by day. We see the man transition from the life that you and I live to the prospect of fighting for his very survival against the overwhelming hordes of the dead. We see him bleed, we see him make mistakes, we witness him evolve.

    Overall

Another excellent installment in the ongoing Zombie Armageddon. Often times the sequel to any book (or movie) isn't able to hold up to the expectations of the original. Beyond Exile is certainly one of the few exceptions, with J.L. taking us on a new and equally intense journey.

If you are into the Zombie/Post Apocalyptic experience and/or you enjoyed Day by Day Armageddon, Beyond Exile is a must read.

When he’s awake, George Bailey is just an ordinary man. Five days a week he coaxes his old Hyundai to life, curses the Los Angeles traffic, and clocks in at his job as a handyman at the local college. But when he sleeps, George dreams of something more. George dreams of flying. He dreams of fighting monsters. He dreams of a man made of pure lightning, an armored robot, a giant in an army uniform, a beautiful woman who moves like a ninja.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ex-Purgatory to be better than the print version?

I've never read the print version.

What did you like best about this story?

The unique nature of this chapter in the EX series. I really can't say much without spoiling the story, however Peter Clines has taken we readers for a new "ride".

Have you listened to any of Jay Snyder’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Jay is one of the very best narrators, however this chapter in the series would have been better with the original cast of narrators. Please bring back the full cast for the next book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me think, which is rare these days.

    Any additional comments?

Thank you Mr. Clines for another brilliant chapter in your EX series. Can't wait for the next EX.

Survivors is the all-new soul-shattering climax to the postapocalyptic trilogy, featuring a deadly virus, military action, global devastation - and zombies. A lot can change in three months: Wars can be decided, nations can be forged...or entire species can be brought to the brink of annihilation. The Morningstar Virus, an incredibly virulent disease, has swept the face of the planet, infecting billions. The infected hosts rampage, attacking anything that remains uninfected.

If you could sum up Survivors in three words, what would they be?

First, I would like to thank Thom for taking on the daunting task of completing the final novel of another author. I do not believe anyone could have done a better job. Although not the same as the first two books, Survivors is a fine story and a fitting tribute to the late Z.A. Recht. I therefore highly recommend Survivors to all Z.A. fans but understand that this novel was ghost written by another author.

What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Oliver is a narrating genius. He is capable of so many different and unique voices which really brings the story to life.

What other book might you compare Kings of the Dead to and why?

This and the second book are truly gems within the Monster/Supernatural/Shoot-em-Up genre. Mr. Correia does an excellent job developing the characters (including the bad guys), creating vivid and accurate settings all while keeping the listener on the edge of the proverbial seat.

The alien spaceship was unthinkably huge, enormously powerful, apparently irresistible. It came from the void and settled on Earth, striking awe into the hearts of all who saw it. Its mission, however, was not conquest - but a call for help!

    Overall

Although somewhat dated, John Cambell's sci-fi is still some of the best. That being said, the narrator does not do justice to this story. With multiple interacting characters, you must have a narrator with the ability to utilize different voices (aka Oliver Wyman). I often found myself lost as to who was speaking and to whom they were talking. Very confusing.

Serge Storms, that loveable thermonuclear vigilante and one-stop-Florida-trivia-shop, has been leaving corpses strewn across the Sunshine State for more than a decade. The authorities—especially one tenacious state agent—have begun to notice the exponential body count, and send a police task force to track down Serge. Could his luck finally have run out?

In my humble opinion, this is the best adventure since Hurricane Punch. There were several moments where I actually laughed out-loud (something a book rarely offers). I really enjoyed the multiple threads and revisiting with some of my favorite characters from previous books. And a couple of excellent and unexpected twists make for an excellent Serge and Coleman installment. Thanks Tim and Oliver. I look forward to the next adventure.

JL Bourne presents us with a realistic zombie tale (if there can be such thing as a realistic zombie tale) told from a unique perspective; excerpts from a survivors diary. This is such a fresh twist to the standard narrative coupled with a excellent edge-of-your-seat zombie story.

They aren't planning to stick around-until Loretta, the eatery's owner, offers them $100 to take care of her zombie problem. Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

    Sara says: "A terrifying story"
"This book will really make you think."
    Overall

Can it really happen? Watch Future Weapon if you doubt the reality of an EMP. Will it happen? Lets hope that the idea of an EMP attack remains fiction. I do not believe (see the recent East Coast of the US power outage) that the events portrayed in this work of fiction are exaggerated. Be it an EMP attack, large scale natural disaster, pandemic, etc. the outcome is well portrayed by Mr. Forstchen. Political views aside, give this book a read.
