Something that resonated with me was the author describing his interactions as a young & less experienced manager with his employees and several occasions in which the employees retaliated against him. His wife made a suggestion "maybe you need to change a little something"<br/
The author wrote a letter of commendation to an employee and sometime later happened to be in the employee's home for a dinner or gathering and he noticed the letter had been framed and place prominently on the wall - demonstrating the positive benefits of praise and how employees respond to recognition
Excellent - I own 100 + audio books - I recommend this book.
I have listened to this book multiple times and so I recommend it (as opposed to the audio books I could not listen to or "wade through" even one time, or the books I did listen one complete time, however, have no intention to ever listen to again)As far as subject matter, I'm interested in benefits from talking about and addressing issues at work and in our personal lives (rather than silence and avoidance) and this book is an excellent resource - as is the book Crucial Confrontations by the same author.
I've listened several times and highly recommend this book. I have 60-70 audiobooks and listen everyday.
This is my favorite book on emotional intelligence.
Next favorite would be the 4-5 books written by Daniel Goleman.
Least favorite are these two books: Emotional Intelligence Quickbook and Emotional Intelligence 2.0.
