Everyone wants to be an influencer. We all want to learn how to help ourselves and others change behavior. And yet, in spite of the fact that we routinely attempt to do everything from lose weight to improve quality at work, few of us have more than one or two ideas about how to exert influence. For the first time, Influencer brings together the breakthrough strategies of contemporary influence masters.

I am not saying that this book was bad. I am saying that the audio format means I have to listen to everything. I also have to listen to EVERYTHING with a notebook in hand. The purpose of an audio book is to listen while I do other things around my house so I can read a book (no pun intended) and get menial tasks completed.

I hate--I mean HATE any book that has much to be delivered, does not include a PDF and spends A LOT of time telling you why this will work and why you should use it. I don't need to be convinced. I bought this book--right??? So please--get to the point. I like books that tell me the strategy first and then why it works. That way, if I want to skip the back-line of the story, I can do so.

Another issue is that the examples are all over the place and not orderly at all. The authors talk about what happened in Thailand with the HIV epidemic then talk about a place in California but both are supposed to be related. I just don't follow. This books needs serious reorganization and a complimentary PDF. The strategies are great and I feel they are sound and will work. It's just hard to muddle through.

Collision is the story of two men living very different lives - one, a successful corporate consultant who is mourning the murder of his new bride; the other, a former CIA agent known only as "Pilgrim", whose current assignment for a fringe espionage agency is so treacherous he doesn't trust even his own boss. When they are thrown together in a violent, unexpected event, the two men realize that they've been framed in an elaborate setup.

I picked up this book because of the narrator. I would like to say, there were some obvious problems with the hero who constantly made the dumbest mistakes. But he did have a worthwhile growth. I did not like the final confrontation between the heroes, and it was obvious, once you know the characters, who killed the wife. Sometimes the author makes the characters do things that they would not do. Toward the end of the book, it seemed this way. I may give Jeff Abbott a try again. I am pretty sure this is cryptic to most readers, but I am just "meh" with this book. I'm okay if this doesn't help you. I bought the book, and it was an enjoyable AND frustrating listen, but I probably won't listen a second time.

I keep thinking with the story lines Ms. Banks imagines, that she will make a story pop. This just is not the case. I also don't see the tie-in with the title. Ms. Banks' books have p lost a lot of their edge. Although a positive in Echoes at Dawn is that the hero and heroine are both individually strong and as a couple. I did like that Rio was a plainspoken and honorable person. Rio was courageous, solid, and true. He didn’t sugar coat anything with Grace, told her the truth. I I did not like how they seemingly feel in love under the circumstances. Some have said that the hero and heroine's interactions was intense and emotion. I actually did not care about either of them at all and jus wanted the book to be at an end. Sorry May--I give up on your books.

The story is ok. I like the story but the performance was awful with little inflection or change in the intonation. There are many areas of this audio where editing could come in handy. Too many repeats of sentences. The audio recording is very poor. I like Michelle Fox but I cannot take the background noise that seems to indicate a poor recording.

This was a seriously different departure for JF here. I loved the story line here and was excited that Ms. Frost had the insight to make sure this was a truly different. I really liked the story. Falling in love at age 20 seems more like YA to me though. There was a romantic scene for the two heroes which was well done and appropriate for the series. I, however, want to read about older and more mature people. I plan to buy the next book in the series, but of course I hope that the way this was left is that the heroine will spend time maturing.

JF poses a crisis of faith for the heroine. This development of faith was based on one's true inner spiritual identity was dealt with in an amazing and tolerant way. Her humor was well done. As we all know from her recent books--demons can be killed with demon bone. In this book, there is a world at stake and the rules are different. Although I miss them, I really appreciated the departure from Bones and Cat. Ms. Frost truly shows the depth of here writing. My only complaint about the book is that Ms. Frost writes about a PTSD attack which is really an anxiety attack. PTSD is a disorder and one can have symptoms but not an attack.

Her voice lilts in odd place and she does not have a good repertoire of voices. In fact her male voices are just awful! I don't know why this book was was six hours. It could have been done in one. The only positive is that Nicholas Boulton is an excellent narrator.

I am not sure how others rated this book, but I found it archaic and sadly written. I could not really stand to listen to the characters interact with each other. I kept wondering how we could have writers today that insist upon writing about a man having sex with a partner who is only lying there. I found myself saying--don't you idiot! Wait! But the stupid man never pleased her or seduced her and gave her the same pleasure he received. The idiot claimed he was in love with her but had sex with her when he KNEW she wasn't interested. He wanted her so much and loved her so much he had to have sex???!!!! He could not hold off enough to woo her properly? One could argue that this kind of stuff happened back then and even now. HOWEVER--to those foolish enough to say this--This is modern FICTION. Since it is false, can't we have it the way we really want our romance?

The idea of submitting to a man when he does nothing to pleasure the woman is archaic. This is an awful book and both of these characters were neither likable or sensible. They both consistently made poor choices. I could barely finish it. The premise sounded very interesting, but it was an awful book. Ms. Kinsale, will not get any more of my money or time. Thanks, but no thanks!!!

He lives in solitude beneath the city, an exile from society, which will destroy him if he is ever seen. She dwells in seclusion, a fugitive from enemies who will do her harm if she is ever found. But the bond between them runs deeper than the tragedies that have scarred their lives. Something more than chance - and nothing less than destiny - has brought them together in a world whose hour of reckoning is fast approaching.

I was so disappointed with this book. The boy proclaims he's hideous and from his nature, I could only surmise that he must be so beautiful that anyone who beholds him cannot stand the vision. As always, there are some deep moments and Koontz has a way with words; however, he's done this theme before. If you have ever read The Taking, this is along with the same theme. The end of the world and all it's evil and rebirth of the good ones. I was a little confused about the marionette theme that seems to be thrown in as a kicker. I really felt Mr. Koontz could have done so much with this part. He also has a deep piece with the arch bishop and I feel like he wasted this opportunity to develop the characters further. Imagine if the bad arch bishop went in to attack the female lead and the hero reveals his face--to the decimation of the evil arch bishop. Despite the let-down of this book, Koontz is still one of my favorite authors. He has so many hits that I am likely to pick it up. Many of the books one can read multiple times. This is not one of them.

BTW: Macleod Andrews Kicks Butt as a narrator!

One night together only made it worse. After seducing Akira, it became apparent that their love affair was hopelessly one-sided, and heartbroken, Lana fled her beloved island paradise. I thought the premise of this story would be great. However, the heroine/victim not only begged the man to take her back, she got into a fisticuffs over him with his ex. A fisticuff--at age 28??? Ridiculous. Unfortunately, I also slept part of the way through the book. Lana's issue was that the man she loved was not going to marry her so she leaves Maui to experience life. When she returns she is supposed to be a sophisticated person but she flashed the hero and plays with herself while he is watching. I only thought, what a way to debase one's self. The main conflict was that there was racism in her marrying a Hawaiian man-it was frowned upon for such a wealthy man to marry a white mainlander even though she was well loved by his family. I could I could only think--welcome to what the mainland is for all the other minorities. Horrible book--weak woman. I don't understand what he saw in her. I also understand why the family might not want him to marry such a weak person irregardless of race.

This blurb on this book purports that, "You can't go wrong with this audiobook because it's written to improve your cognitive skills and throughout the process your brain will not be overworked." This is flat out crap. There are chapters on Long term memory, short term memory, amnesia--but maybe 1-2 minutes spent on exercises to do for MEMORY! This is definitely not what it says it will be. Further, Kirk Hanley's voice is scratchy and hard to listen to. DO NOT BUY!
