Awesome love story. Man desperately in love with women, can't live without her...everything a lady loves to hear.. Had a great plot as well.. A lot more going on than just the couple too which is always a plus..the other thing I really thought was cool was the perspective views the author gave to each book and character. She makes sure you don't miss a thought or emotion. Excellently done!
I thought narrator to be nice..she added a lot to the story and pulls you in with her voice.
This book and series all together really surprised me. I don't often listen to many stories more than once but I just finished it and I can't wait to go back and hear it again..
I could NOT "put this book down"! Really enjoyed the history mixed with a beautiful love story although I felt like it could use a bit more "romance" to it. Regardless, it was an awesome story that I thoroughly enjoyed. The narrator did an amazing job as well. NO easy job and she pulled it off beautifully.I would definitely listen to another of her stories. And Brenda Joyce didn't fail my expectations in the least.
Karen Robards is actually one of my favorite historical fiction writers and so I hate to say a disparaging word, Buuut, I really didn't like this book. Her writing was intense and engaging as usual but I was turned off by the story line.
It's very hard to enjoy a book where the main character is nothing more than a very young girl and the man nearly double her age.
I'm not fool enough to think that such things didn't take place at that time but it was kinda creepy to hear it at THIS time.
The Narrator: I DID enjoy, he makes for a lousy women but his male aspect to the story was the only part that kept me listening.
Overall, I'd tell you to try some of her other stuff because she has some awesome books, this just isn't one of them.
