"Hard to believe"
The only positive thing I can say about the narration is that it fits the book perfectly. Both are awful. I have usually enjoyed Coben's books, but this one is terrible from start to finish. It seems more like one of those books where someone else takes over and writes for a dead author.
I will make sure to never download another book read by the narrator. This is the second one and she is inexcusably bad.
I was forced to give this audiobook one star in the rating. It doesn't even deserve that.
"Surprisingly boring"
Probably not. The translation from German to English included an odd combination of German proper names mixed with American slang (e.g. repeatedly referring to prison as "the joint"). This was somewhat annoying, and hurt the flow of the narration. The book itself was surprisingly boring. I liked the concept, but too predictable in many spots.
No great surprise.
Pace of story was plodding, so yes, the narration matched the pace.
No
"another great Reacher book"
Like every other Jack Reacher book, you get hooked from the very beginning. Dick Hill's reading style is perfect. I couldn't imagine a Reacher audiobook without him.
