As has been mentioned earlier, the fundamental premise of the book (i.e. first imperessions matter) is sound and interesting. However, what detracts from the value of the book is the endless analogies and digressions to prove this fundamental premise. The book could have easily been 1/4th the size and not missed the point. Nevertheless well written and well read by the author.

This books starts off with the premise of teaching novices the fundamentals of finance to gain financial independence.
Yes, it degenerates into quick-rich schemes mainly by short-term stock trading and real-estate using overly-simplistic techniques that have no credibility of working in real life with taxes, transaction costs and opportunity costs accounted for.
The authors tout their seminars, books and newletters ... something that always disgusts and offends me.
The promise of gaining financial indpendence in as little as 6 months is unfounded and unsubstantiated.
Avoid this book get better ones such as:
- Richest Man in Babylon
- Rich Dad Poor Dad
- The Zurich Axioms

This is one of the best investment books that I have read. In fact having read this book prompted me to purge many other investment books from my collection that unnecessarily complicate the investment tennants and digress the budding investor into either too many esoteric investment domains or leave the investor with too much vague information without the specifics.

Buffet's investment tennants are solid, relatively simple and timeless and are widely applicable to different investments, during different economic conditions and transcend national borders. Of course the would-be Buffet-like investor must embrace the psychological mindset too for the invstment technique to be usable.

Am not sure why the other reviewers ranked this program low - for in my opinion, they either do not understand investment or do not buy into the Buffet-approach to investment - both their losses not hopefully yours.

On a final note, the program is excellently narrated and held my attention for all the 8 hrs and 45 mins (no book that long had held me rapture).

So well done Mr. Hagstrom and Audible for bringing us this excellent program.

While all the information presented here is correct and relevant, there is nothing new here. If you have read other career books then you will already be familiar with all the concepts that the author talk about. Nothing insightful and life-changing. If you are really serious about career change, read the perenial classic on career and job hunting - 'What Color Is Your Parachute' by Richard Nelson Bolles. Listen to this book only if you are a novice at career change and development.

Has some good points, hence, the 3 stars. Too much self glorification and share of personal stories that don't really add to what is being preached. Too many over-used and tired quotes; some good ones too. Looks like someone who has read a lot of material on leadership and personal development and then just rehashed these ideas once again like so many books do these days. There are better books out there. Try 'The Magic of Thinking Big'.

Another western author's attempt to superficially package profound eastern philosophy for the western masses. Idealistic and feel goody. Only for those who believe in alternative philosophy such as Chakras. Interesting concept. Don't know how much I will be able to use in real life.

I have read and heard several books and audio programs over the years. The ideas presented here are sound. However, there is no original material here. Most of the one liners and stories, I had heard before. The author seems to have just rehashed some well established ideas, put his own spin on them and presented them in an appetising form. I honestly did not learn one new thing here, just a reiteration of old ideas. Try ' The Magic of Thinking Big'. Its more original and profound than this work. Also I hate ex-yuppie authors extol their own virtues about how they gave up the good life and are now dedicated to the service of mankind. I am afraid, I would not recommend this work for the price.

The entire production is awful! The contents are all over the place. Sometimes I do not know what the narrator is getting at. The speech quality is awful and parts of it are unintelligable. Very dissatisfied with this purchase. There are far better books with better content and audio quality than this one. Give this a miss!
