"I know the problem"
I was listening to the abridged version with out realizing it until the end. Never again will I make that mistake. Loved this Narrator.
"My OCD Flaring Big Time"
What a painful experience I had listening to this sickeningly horribly boring book. Forever the optimist, I had to finish it. I had to believe it would turn around. Several hours in, there was no turning back. I tortured myself for several more days and nights through the uninteresting repetitive "passionate" parts. Ugh!
In the end WHO CARES???
What a terrible waste of precious life listening to this dumb story.
"Entertaining......"
This book was an entertaining cat and mouse story. Never sure how it would end. Caution: Some gruesome parts but all and all pretty good.
"Save your credit"
I always finish a book so I finished this ridiculous story. A cop who can't read? Come on. And that's just one of the absurdities.
"Didn't think I would enjoy a memoir"
I am an African American woman living in the U.S. who clearly knew nothing about the Irish. I'm fasinated by this story! It was sad and funny while providing insight into the Catholic church, the oppression of the Irish people told with the innonece of a boy. I doubt that anyone could have read the story better than Frank McCourt. My new favorite book.
"A bore then a snore..."
While I really wanted to love it, about half way through, I start using it as a sleep aid..... It worked.
"Laural Lippman can do no wrong"
I am a Lippmanite, except for "Don't Look Back", she has managed to keep me engrossed in everything I have read from her so far. "Life Sentences" is another one of her works of art.
"Go, Go-Go, Go"
This is why I love Laura Lippman and Linda Emond together. Descriptive story with some of the strongest narration narration around. My favorite, and for some reason most lasting image is the preparation for the Priest's arrival to tea. I could literally picture every hair, the cake, the kitchen and the smell of the place.
This one was outstanding.
"The Verdict"
I'm still fat, but relaxed by the soothing sounds at bedtime. It's all about Healthy Choices!
"Keeps you guessing"
This story was entertaining and enjoyable. The ending felt a bit rushed but I would recommend.
