Memories of the Afterlife is a collection of fascinating true accounts from around the world, handpicked and presented by life-between-lives hypnotherapists certified by the Newton Institute. After recalling memories of their afterlife, the people in these studies embarked on life-changing spiritual journeys - reuniting with soul mates and spirit guides, and discovering the ramifications of life and body choices, love relationships, and dreams by communing with their immortal souls.

Would you try another book from Michael Newton (editor) and/or Peter Berkrot and Xe Sands ?

    No, not intentionally.

What was most disappointing about Michael Newton (editor)’s story?

This sent my mind wandering away from the story almost immediately.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Memories of the Afterlife?

    Any additional comments?

I found it hard to believe that these stories are real, in any way, shape or form. If they are real in fact, there is no merit, no value to them. They are wanderings of someone's mind. So sorry I purchased this.

Is there life beyond the grave? Is it reasonable to believe in the afterlife? If so, how should we act on those beliefs? Best-selling author Dinesh D'Souza undertakes an unprecedented voyage of intellectual discovery to reveal the truth about life, death and beyond.

I always enjoy reading life after death stories. This was not one of them. This is an intellectual study of religions, non believers and science on the subject at hand. My mind wandered often during the narration. I do not believe this book provided any evidence of life after death as it is left up to the listener what they believe after all of the so called evidence.

In 1974 the historian Fawn Brodie predicted that a "sensitive study of the Lincoln marriage will not always defy biographers". Until now, it has. The only book-length treatment of the marriage was published in 1953, when scholars lacked today's resources and were still struggling with deep-seated prejudices about Mary Todd and Abraham Lincoln. Now Daniel Mark Epstein has produced an incisive and balanced portrait of the Lincolns.

Fascinating look inside the relationship/marriage of Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln. I could not stop listening and in fact listened to it a second time so as not to miss anything. It let's us know that most of have stories to tell about our life and marriage, including the famous. I loved the humanness of Mr. Lincoln. I cannot wait to compare this to the current Lincoln movie when I see it. For those who love President Lincoln and need to know more, get this one.

Listening to this Lincoln story has led me to The Madness of Mary Todd Lincoln.

  • Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders

Prosecuting attorney in the Manson trial Vincent Bugliosi held a unique insider's position in one of the most baffling and horrifying cases of the 20th century: the cold-blooded Tate-LaBianca murders carried out by Charles Manson and four of his followers. What motivated Manson in his seemingly mindless selection of victims, and what was his hold over the young women who obeyed his orders? Now available for the first time in unabridged audio, the gripping story of this famous and haunting crime is brought to life by acclaimed narrator Scott Brick.

    Story

I was about 13 when the Manson murderous rampage happened. It shook me greatly when I realized that the world I lived in was not all fun and play and happiness. There was more to this world than I ever would have thought or believed. I saw the TV movie based on this book and it was gripping, but did not come close to this book. Some parts I could not bear to hear and had me cringing and shaken. It was difficult to put down once I started to listen. I wondered how some of these murder cases ever get solved, the police in this case out of touch with other law enforcement. Must be a California thing. Bugliosi was brilliant in his prosecution. This story led me to follow up on all of the characters in the Manson Family to see where they are today. Are some people that easily led by a madman? Shocking. If you love true life murder stories, this is the one for you.

  • Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography

A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

    Story

I liked Rob's story and in his own voice, the narration would not have pulled it all together if it had been done by someone else. This is a compilation of brief stories of Lowe's life, ups, downs, highs, lows. Some so brief, I think I missed a few, like the story on St. Elmo's Fire. I wanted so much to hear about the behind the scenes friendships, etc. I went back through some of the chapters to see if I could find something, anything, but must have slept through it. Still, a good read/listen and I would definitely recommend to Lowe fans. For me, I always thought that someone who has great looks, life would just come easy. It seems I was wrong.

In The Diana Chronicles, you will meet a formidable female cast and understand as never before the society that shaped them: among them, Diana's sexually charged mother, her bad-girl sister-in-law, Fergie, and, most formidable of them all, her mother-in-law, the Queen. Add Camilla Parker-Bowles, the ultimate "other woman" into this combustible mix, and it's no wonder that Diana broke out of her royal cage into celebrity culture, where she found her own power and used it to devastating effect.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Charles Thomas Cayce, grandson of Edgar Cayce narrates. Except for Edgar Cayce himself, who better to narrate? His voice is pleasant and soothing.

    Any additional comments?

I have always been a follower of Edgar Cayce and wished I had the opportunity to be taught by him. This pre-sleep series in a great opportunity for me to do so. I listened to this audio fully awake the first time and listened all the way through. It does talk you into sleep as it continues to speak and teach how to change your life to receive abundance. After the first night of listening, I remember falling asleep halfway through. When I woke in the morning, my mood was very positive and I had noticed that I felt optimistic about everything and everyone. Even my blood sugar was stable throughout the day. In fact I felt happier than I had in a very long time. I felt positive. That is all I can say. I will continue listening each night. My husband wants to try the better sleep in the pre-sleep series.

Even before the Beatles hit the big time, a myth was created. This version of the Beatles legend smoothed the rough edges and filled in the fault lines, and for more than forty years this manicured version of the Beatles story has sustained as truth, until now.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As a lifetime Beatles fan there is little that I have not heard before in this audiobook, but still it had me hooked and I could not break away. I felt like a fifth Beatle and rode the roller coaster ride the Beatles were on. I understood each character perfectly, warts and all. The Beatles were a magical creation, a miracle, there is no other way to describe it. It was an incredible journey of truly gifted souls that came together and changed generations. If you like the Beatles, I believe you will love this.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Beatles?

The most memorable moment was the firing of Pete Best.

What does Alfred Molina bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Alfred Molina was an excellent narrator. He kept my attention throughout.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't want to stop listening. I listened to Part 1 for nearly 4 hours before stopping.

    Any additional comments?

    Thoroughly enjoyable and very interesting.
