Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, it's good fun and a lighthearted easy listen. It may not hit the highs of the original, but there are plenty of quotes.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrators "posh" voice wasn't terribly convincing and sounded more like the sycophantic, sniveling Mr Collins.

Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare.

    "Preachy, worldly nonsense"

This book is awful! It is simply a screed of self justification that most new agers and people looking for reasons to hate “religion” will love. It will appeal to anyone who prefers to avoid deep, meaningful theological discussion.
