If you are concerned about your health, READ THIS BOOK! Urge all the members of your family, your friends, your co-workers to read it. It may save your life or at least make it last longer and be more enjoyable to live.
Lots of chuckles. Hit on current 2014-15 social issues. Not a miss manners guide! good advice. Did not especially like reader's voice or intonation. She droned & timing was off. Glad i listened.
Read this series as a child. This book slow & too predictive & had threads that were too unbelievable-as if Tarzan wasn't unbelievable enough.
So nice to have call the midwife wrapped up. Great characters who truly were an inspiration & salvation to so many.
Storyline & storytelling wonderful. More please!
It is as if i am there except for the smells. Hate to finish her books.
The cousins' war series is wonderful. Have listened to it many times & always note something I must have missed before. Characters develop & change & grow. Hope she writes more series like this.
This series allows you to live in another world as if you are the time-traveler yourself. If you love history, strong personalities, a bit of romance, humor, and a dream state for many hours, this is for you.
Enjoyed all but briana's experiences in Scotland b4 her trip back. Skipped those parts second time i listened. Good twists & turns. Die-hard fans of the series will love being part of the family again. If these continue, please let Claire age gracefully and not continue her sexual insatiability! Those of us of the same age know this is abnormal & comes out as contrived. More personal interaction & less sex please. It is tiring!!
watch the series on tv and read the book. you will enjoy both more. these women worked so hard. we have it so good and don't realize it or appreciate it enough.
lots of fun to listen to if you are a country life person. if you can't appreciate bad weather, hard work, good dirt, crazy animals, and total exhaustion at the end of the day, forget this book. if any of that is appealing, then this is a great book for you. living on a small farm, i empathized and sympathized and laughed and cried.
so interesting to read about the woman who made highclere what it was and how she did it. she was quite a character.
