This audiobook makes you appreciate professional narrators. Ms. Tan's accent, though slight, drops some consonants, which makes it hard to follow. In addition, her voice level rises and falls in a way that a professional's would not do, and it's hard to follow her when her voice fades off.
An enjoyable read. Likeable characters, including the supporting characters. An interesting setting. And the narrator is very good.
I found the narrator very hard to understand. I thought that he spoke too quickly, and didn't enunciate well. I should have listened to the excerpt before buying. There were large segments that I just couldn't hear properly.
